More details on Capcom's 3D sound game, Nazo Yaku Wakata photo

We recently learned that Capcom was working on a 3DS game that would add 3D sound to the 3D visuals, but details were scarce on Nazo Wako Yakata until now.

In this mansion exploring experience you won't use the d-pad or buttons at all. Some actions are done through the touch screen, but you'll use the gyro sensor to look around rooms of a mansion and the microphone to talk to characters.

One new example of gameplay, found on Andriasang, has players in a room where they need to wake up a girl sleeping on the couch. You'll use the gyro sensor to look around the room and the mic to call out to her. Another room has you guessing what the ingredients are in a hot pot by listening to the sounds of each ingredient being eaten. Finally, a music room has you practicing your singing along with a piano.

As for that 3D sound, Famitsu.com has a really cool example sound file. Visit this page and click on the guy in the top hat. The effect was quite pronounced, even on my laptop speakers.

Details are still scarce, but Nazo Wako Yakata is already sounding like a very unique game.

Looks like there is some potential for the Hotel Dusk/Ju-On genre of games on here...hell even Fatal Frame.

This is never leaving Japan, and that's a huge shame.

after the awesomeness that is SSF43D, i'm pretty much ready to give capcom all my moneys. i will be paying attention to everything they put out on the handheld, and 3D sound/graphics sounds really good to me!

This is looking sweet; hopefully they'll license it in English.

@ZeniGeva:

I'd love to see another games along the lines of Hotel Dusk, that was one freaking sweet game. It's a shame it wasn't a bit more polished to gain more popularity...

I like the sound of that.

This looks like it will be an amazing game to play on the bus.

But in all honesty, I don't know how comparable the 3DS's microphone quality is to the DS Lite, but I know that adding a microphone mechanic to the DS Lite was basically a death sentence for me. I'm just not ready for the level of immersion that requires me to talk to a handheld, especially in public.
