Looks like Activision has decided to pass along to IGN a handful of the set list for Guitar Hero 5. certainly as impressive in its variety as the game's developer, Neversoft, had promised. Here's are the 25 confirmed tracks, minus the previously announced songs from E3:

Posted a few days ago, their list is a spot on match for what IGN just revealed, which lends some credence to Joystiq's sleuthing. Good work, guys.
You can see their entire list after the jump. You can also see a completely made up "leaked" list in our forums, if you're looking for a good chuckle.

I'm more surprised that two dead rockstars (kobain and cash) are in the game.
Well here's hoping that my little brother is gullible and decides he needs this game too.
Don't know if I'm going to pick it up, as the few songs I like in that list are drowned out by awful bands/songs. Sucks they used "Wanna Be In LA" from EoDM as they have other awesome songs to pick from. I'm pretty conflicted on this matter.
Also, lol:
"if you have to be in a video game to get in front of them, that's a little sad." -Jack White, with two songs of his featured in the game.
I can see it now. Kobain, MJ, Flea and that dude from Blink-182 playing the Jonas Brothers atop a Best Buy celebrating the launch of a new Guitar Hero... that there's the future of music games.
Otherwise....ehhhh
I'm going to wait until there is a Guitar Hero with pretty much every song ever.
You mean Rock Band, which has compatibility over all versions?
waits until it drops 19.99
Elliott Smith is also a dead rockstar.
And also, no Hendrix Watchtower? Not to say that Dylan's is bad, but given the game is called Guitar Hero...

^ that's what I'm saiyan. pun intended.
I think it was Nick Chester that I hit with a list of 30 or 40 bands I'd like to see in these games. How about some of that?
That seems really really good.
And what's up with those Sublime forgotten hits? Fuck that, they have some amazing challenging songs, I would love to see some bassline nightmare from Sublime for GH.
I love how crap like Children of Bodom and Dragonforce get in Guitar Hero, yet Blind Guardian, Hammerfall, Sonata Arctica, Kamelot and Nocturnal Rites still remain unseen.
