Moon weapons: Fermion Sniper

12:40 PM on 01.14.2009, Dale North 13 comments

     DS

The above short video shows off one of the eight weapons of Moon, the new DS first-person shooter from publisher Mastiff. This weapon is a sort of sniper rifle, allowing you to zoom in and pick off space baddies before they can see you.

I'm currently playing through review code of Moon now. I don't have that weapon yet, but I can say that I need it... now. Oh, and switching weapons is really easy in Moon. You just tap a weapon with your stylus, slide it to what you'd like to use next, and let go. Pretty slick, if you ask me.

In fact, the whole game is slick. It must be said that none of these trailers do the game justice. Seeing it in action in person, gliding along like butter in 60 FPS -- it's all really impressive. And the game? It's great. Look forward to our review very soon.

Yeah, I should wait for the review. The questions are all surfacing, yet the answers will come with time. Patience...

I thought the game sucked really bad. Like, really bad. It's waaaay hard to control! The touch screen aiming doesn't not work very well at all.

DS videos and screen shots NEVER do the game justice.

I have it. It's pretty fantastic. I love the remote droid. Fantastic graphics and environment. Very dead space-y.

After reading some reviews my initial reaction seems to be the case. This game is just flat out boring with horrible level and character design.

Everything in it just looks blah, and that's not just a shot at the graphics (which, frankly, hurt my eyes more than the original "Doom").

IGN have it a 8.5

I've tried it out myself. It's pretty fun. The graphics are amazing for a DS game. It gets a little repetitive at times but overall, it's great.

I gave up on Moon already, because of the game breaking bug mentioned in the IGN review. It's absolutely fucking retarded that they left that in there, and that they designed the driving level in a manner that makes the way to get stuck seem like the right thing to do.

I think I'm going to be picking this up as a rental just to see how I like it.

I'm interested, but not sold. FPS on DS is a few steps below FPS on console... and as a PC elitist in that regard, thats pretty low.
