Still doesn't seem very comfortable, but maybe I just need to see it and try it out for myself before judging.
Here's hoping it's cheap/bundled with something...
But I can't be arsed where I saw that confirmation.
In all seriousness, what did ever happen to that vita mh title?
Well, I wish Capcom would bring back Frontier with 3rd/Tri's engine and call it the Final Frontier or some shit. Frontier still the best MH, imo.
Not needed but better for actual gamers and inexpensive.
I say it better have rumble and an extra battery too.
Monster Hunter tri though, I bought the Wii version, why do I need the same game with half of the content that shoulda been in there in the first place with the online play striped?
No thanks.
I want the extra controls though.
Even if only ONE game will ever use it.
again, Rumble and extra battery, make it more usefull beyond extra buttons that no games will use.
There isn't even a Monster Hunter Vita game yet. The one you were seeing was an older PSP MH running on Vita at a upscaled resolution.
sure I had to stretch my right thumb to the d-pad in for better "control" but it gave me no pain ... but I played better...
and you have 5 possibilities for camera control on the 3ds ... the lower d-pad, the L & R buttons, the touch screen (already proven for camera use), the accelerometers, and the standard face buttons.
use your imagination people... learn to Learn for once.
but no ... the 3ds and Nintendo in general is/are "Doomed"
I remembered not long ago ... that the PS3 was "doomed" (expensive shit + no games)... also the 360 (cuz of RROD + fail rate)... has it happened yet?...
BRAINz!!!... Get one!
Sick name
Reaching over for the dpad isn't an option on a handheld so if you want to use the dpad you must use the claw. And the L and R, touch screen, and face buttons are all wonderful options, if the game isn't already using them that is. Motion control is a bad idea for the only camera control.
Thanks for the name compliment.
reaching for the d-pad part... was referring to the use on the Dreamcast ... its unlikely but doable on the 3DS since its not that wide
and the accelerometer part could be done... you could tilt the 3DS slightly like a steering wheel for left & right movement... it will ruin the 3D effect but it could work
just saying
"Also surprising is the total lack of double nub to be found on the game's official website."
I'm taking a wild and wooly whack at this, but the nub could/will work with the game, but its not a big deal to Capcom that it does, probably because they feel they have to sell people on the game before the nub even becomes a factor.
Given that the site for the game is also Japanese, couldn't this just be Japanese sensibilities taking effect, with the nub not being mentioned? Because I sort of think (bordering on fully believing) that the nub has a major possibility of appearing all over -at least- the US based Monster Hunter site when it comes this way (and I assume it will). Since there's a definite (read: obvious) difference in the way the two countries are marketed to, and how things are received; and I sort of think this is one of those times. Capcom's Japanese wing is just playing to their audience, and their audience will really only care about Monster Hunter in any form they can get it.*
Or, maybe Nintendo's going to be pushing the nub on their own. Nintendo maybe so controlling (still) that they'll WANT to market it all themselves, and Capcom will just sit back and do small things to promote just the game along the way (God forbid they get even a little credit for Nintendo's nub, after all), at least while the nub is initially packed with the game. At the same time, yeah, it'll be packaged with Capcom's game and all, but the nub and Nintendo's 3DS problems -which began before, and seem to be furthered by the nub(at least in the west)- isn't something Capcom should have to take on themselves. So its a two way street.
Also, while trying to research/remind myself of some things quickly while I was writing this comment, I noticed that Nintendo's peripherals -almost - always go with a Nintendo-made game. I could swear there was at least one at some point that was packed with a 3rd Party's, but I can't remember what it was. BUT, this could be another reason behind the squirrely-ness of whats going on with the nub.
Overall, its also a little too early to say one way or another whats going on just yet and I assume we'll have months yet to speculate.
*And that brings up a good point too. People are freaking out about it in the west (it seems to be what we do), but whats the reception really like from Japan, specially since they were able to actually see the full Famatsu article on it?
