TBH it looks great on PSP already like most current games; more important to me would be the slightly more comfortable controls..

You better bring this over Capcom. I like Monster Hunter but I hate playing it on the PSP. I need better camera controls and online capabilities. (I really hope the hope the ad-hoc mode will work without a wired connection with this game.)

as much as i like Monster Hunter Portable 3rd. i just want a Monster Hunter game build from the ground up, using all the power of consoles :P
i mean just imagine as , a more open world field without loading times, you can mount to monster like felyne, you can use a battleship(like in Monster Hunter Tri; during that boss battle in the dessert) to travel around the globe, up the player limit up to 8(just like frontier), bigger bosses like in Lost Planet 2(playing it right now, it looks amazing O_O)
seriously Capcom can definitely rock the sales if they made something like that :P

I'd still prefer a console made from capcoms engine that fuels Dmc3 and Lost planet 2...but I'll take it.
It sounds awkward to sell a game for a console that's called portable, I know why they're keeping the name to make sure people don't confuse it with Tri, but this should have been an NGP game. It would have been a great way to sell the system.
@Scissors - I'm pretty sure it is going to be an NGP game as well actually, which still makes it odd that they're releasing it for PS3 too, but meh, I'm glad they are since I don't plan to pick up an NGP for quite some time.
I hope like hell this comes stateside, would love me some Monster Hunter with a dual analog control.
What about the two God of War games or the Syphon Filters, there are a whole host of games that would be more appropriate for the dual stick/upscaling treatment (in my opinion) than the Monster Hunter games, i know in Japanland they aren't exactly niche.. but in the rest of the world they most certainly are, is this a confirmed release in NTSC & PAL territories?
I'll be honest, initially I shat my pants when I first heard about this. But when I calmed down and thought about it, I realized there are so many things that could go wrong with this. Does anyone here prefer simply getting a MHP3rd PSP US release date?
What is the point of showing off a game that is supposed to be up-scaled to HD, if you don't film it in HD... Looks god awful, even in 480p...

WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH (>.<) i have a wii and as much as i like my ps3 this looks to be somewhat inferior to monster hunter tri which ive been meaning to pick up once the price goes down.

I think this is a good thing. Here in the US im super lucky to have a good size hunting party. There are three of us that are true blooded hunters and another 3 that hunt on and off. MH is about getting a group together and having fun, without a strong online network as in the wii and now the PS3 you just don't get the full MH experience. I think bring MH to the PS3 is nothing but a good time and will bring more hunters into the fold. But I will always have a soft spot for MH in its true portable form.

It's not a console game meant for portables, so much as a full-sized console game which they somehow managed to fit on a UMD through sheer black magic. The previous installments were on PS2 before they migrated to PSP, and the PSP versions didn't cut content or features - they added more.
I've put in 522 hours in the previous game thus far, according to my save file. That's more than twice as much gameplay as I've gotten out of any other game, and a damn sight more fun than most of them.
That being said... yeah, the graphics on this HD version don't look particularly hot. Hopefully they can do a bit to spruce them up before release.
