Monolith was afraid the video below the fold would take the edge off F.E.A.R. 2: Project Origin’s vile conclusion. The studio was right. Watching SnakeFist twist, waltz, punch, pantomime and whirl around a variety of the game’s environments probably would have killed the emotion of the “Wait ... Oh, Jesus” moment.
According to Monolith’s Dan Affleck, the video was supposed to be aired during the end credits of the game. So sure the comical video would make the cut, the scenes were even motion captured. (Video proof of that is available on Monolith’s blog.) Talk about a fun day at the office.
Every game should end with a silly song and dance-off. Make it happen, developers. Even you, BioWare.
It's nice to see the hints Monolith still has a soul. Hopefully their next game will finally make use of it. All these gloomy serious games are not befitting them at all.
FEAR 2 was awesome.
i'm just hoping that the next rape scene in a videogame is a little more intuitive -- like maybe a button press "X to struggle underneath the weight of your assailant" or something.
Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!
