Monkey Island statue is made of greatness photo

This weekend I come to you on my knees begging for forgiveness. Why do I do this? Because I have never played a Monkey Island game. Not even part of one. Not even one mouse click to make a character walk across the screen. I'm sorry. Strike me down now, wallowing in my own self pity. My only defense is that I have played every other LucasArts point-and-click masterpiece, but that is no defense at all. I can't even fully appreciate the statue of LeChuck and Threepwood throwing down that you see above, and it so deserves to be fully appreciated.

This may be a blessing in disguise for you, however. Since I have never played the games it means that I do not want to spend $89.99 for this fine piece of art. That means there is one less person vying for the 1,000 copies of the statue that were made. Head over to StarWarsShop.com and you can pre-order the 10" tall statue while supplies last. It will then show up at your door (one assumes) after its release on Sept. 10. As for me, fear not. I am taking Brad "the muscles from Brussels" Nicholson's advice and downloading The Secret of Monkey Island: Special Edition

Its cool, but i wouldn't spend that much on it. I want a statue of the sword training machine, with a real 'i beat the swordmaster' t shirt.

A real "I beat the swordmaster" t-shirt would be pretty cool. I just finished Act 1 of the gsme for the first time and loved that part.

Maybe someday when I have a real job I'll be able to afford all these kick ass videogame statues but until then I'm gonna have to be content with barely affording the games themselves.

That is not the Ghost Pirate LeChuck, way to fleshy and not enough ectoplasm.

If you'd never played a Monkey Island game before, like me, then you might not find it as glowingly awesome as somebody nostalgic for the series.

If it were the original designs I might consider buying. But the new designs, while not bad, aren't really the "classic" imagery I have so much attachment for

On the comments for the Brutal Legend statuette I said that I'd rather have a LeChuck one. Well, that's really not proper LeChuck. It looks like a tacky Disney Peter Pan model.
