Monday Mind Teasers: The Real Monday Mind Teasers photo

You know how it works! With the help of each other, try to figure out all of the disguised game covers. They all share a common theme that, once solved, can help you figure out the harder ones.

This week's theme will require a little more thinking than usual for most of you, although to some of you it might stand out right away. As usual, don't be afraid to shout out ideas and work together as a team to solve them all. Good luck!

P.S. If you haven't voted on last week's Shadow of the Colossus VS God of War debate yet, then tonight is your last chance.

Just a friendly reminder: there's 9 teasers this week. Only 6 are displayed on the page, you have to go into the image gallery to see them all.

Just to clarify, Hard 2 was SingStar: Rock Ballads.

Still no stabs at what the theme is?

As crummy as garison's guesses were (no offense) his theme idea isn't too far off. Certainly seems better than anything I was coming up with. They are all pretty bad so far, besides maybe condemned and undiscovery.

Theme still unsolved!

@ DanlHaas: Good guess, but no. Keep in mind that the title of these Monday Mind Teaser posts contain hints now. try analyzing the post title some more.

So, to summarize the correct answers are:
Easy 1: Guitar Hero Encore: Rock the 80's
Easy 2: Super Man 64
Medium 1: Infinite Undiscovery
Medium 2: Kim Possible: Global Gemini
Medium 3: Condemned: Criminal Origins
Medium 4: Guilty Gear XX
Hard 1: ?
Hard 2: Singstar: Rock Ballads
Hard 3: ?
Theme: ? - somehow related to title - "The Real Monday Mind Teasers"

Is the theme along the lines of prequels or re-imaginings? A lot of these games are sequels or second entries in series.

Medium 4 -- solved (Guilty Gear X2)

Theme -- still unsolved. No one has even come close yet, the theme actually has 100% nothing to do with games.

Hahah, nice try V the Grigori, but no. Theme still unsolved. Hard #3 still unsolved. I'm guessing there's no way you'll get Hard #3 without knowing the theme.

TheCleaningGuy at 11/25/2008 00:20
The theme? My best guess at it would be... 80s rock?
But, I suppose Kim Possible and Superman 64 don't fit. Infinite Undiscovery sounds like a metal name, as does Condemned, Guilty Gear XX is all about the 80s metal, then theres the music games... Okay, It's a loose attept, but it's an attempt.
Also Hard #3 is guy with microphone stand with a bandanna... so um: Revolution X maybe?

Im going to guess the theme is "Super Star"
Stoph's Avatar
Stoph at 11/25/2008 00:30
I think these words have to do with the theme although I don't know what the theme is:

Hero
Super
Infinite
Possible
Condmned
Guilty

Am I on to something?
Fronz's Avatar
Fronz at 11/25/2008 00:47
Hmmm, still no correct theme guess, but good tries. As for Stoph, here's some help:

Hero - no
Super - no. Superman - yes
Infinite - yes
Possible - no
Condemned - no. Criminal - yes
Guilty - yes

Hope that helps!

Who framed roger rabbit?

Seriously all I can think off is that the theme has something to do with DC comics, Infinite Crisis in which Superboy prime was guily (ergo a criminal) of killing the regular superboy.

I'm gonna leave before my head explodes

Nope, theme still unsolved, but you're on the right track. The theme is words contained in _________. So start brainstorming!
Batthink's Avatar
Batthink at 11/25/2008 01:42
@ Atlas;

I think you might be closer, since you have a reference to a game and a work of Nietzsche.

Dostoyevsky's Crime and Punishment maybe?
Fronz's Avatar
Fronz at 11/25/2008 03:20
LOL. The 9 underscores was not intentional, and specifically it's actually few words to describe the theme, not just one. The whole "words from something" was a shot in the right direction. Nietzsche has nothing to do with the theme. You just have to figure "words from what?" the theme is.

Just keep reading the post title, and the game names, over and over. Maybe it'll finally trigger.

Also, Hard #3 is still unsolved I believe. I have a feeling if I gave it away it would also give away the theme, so I'm not going to :)

Good luck! Keep trying!
