Monday Mind Teasers: Tank Search photo

With a name like Tank Search, you might expect another violent game like last week's KOI2, but instead we'll just be looking for tanks -- not using them. Paperbat's game is very simple and very addictive, and if you've ever spent all day looking at a Where's Waldo? book, then you'll surely love this hidden art game. You may also love the game's intense music!

Each level is one picture, and all 100 levels have the Newgrounds tank logo hidden somewhere within the scene. Some have the tank hidden away in a place you might not look, while others have it blended into the background or bleached into the foreground, and a few especially nefarious levels feature grainy pictures that could hide just about anything within its pixellated mess.

You can play Tank Search here on Newgrounds. Feel free to post your lowest time/score in the comments! Or, if you're stuck, just ask for help and we'll share spoilers to those who want them. Good luck!

Warning: there's a secret 101st level that is time based! You only have 60 seconds to find the tank.

Feel free to ask question on any level, but don't just list the level's name -- describe the level with some details.

Man, I rolled through the first 27, no problem. Now I've been on 28 longer than the other put together. These kinds of games aren't for me. Or rather, I'm not the kind of dude for these games. I get frustrated and quit way too easily.

Really enjoyed that first 1/4 of the game though.

Which one did you get stuck on? What kind of pic? There were six or seven that gave me some big trouble too.

Stuck towards the very end of the game. Few folk are hiking through the forest. :| It's gotta be here somewhere.

Of course, just after commenting that, I found it. Took me over six minutes though.

Yea that first tank is a bitch. I'm stuck on the one with 2 guys fighting bare-chested. Looks like party, kick boxing.

About to punch the screen too.

1476 seconds.

Honestly, while I enjoyed the game, by the time I got to level 60, it became a major clickfest while I vaguely guessed where the creator had put the tank instead of me straining my eyes against a fairly unfocused picture that gave me a headache.

My biggest gripe was the pictures. It hurt my eyes to look at such grainy pictures for hidden icons, I don't really know how to describe the experience as anything but incredibly painful. There were some challenging levels for sure (The biker one was particularly annoying).

But for all this, there are some pretty cleverly hidden tanks in some pictures, and I enjoyed the experience. The last stage was pretty difficult too, glad I managed to find it in appx 20 seconds.

Good luck guys, thanks for the Mind Teaser Fronz!

the ferris wheel one is under the guys shoe, but where is the one in the fighting scene I described?

Also yes, it's near the middle of the Ferris Wheel. I'm gonna finish this episode of Castle and I'll refresh these as I'm watching if anyone else has questions! :)

Yeah, Paperbat says he will make another Tank Search game, and I'm glad since these games are easy to make and should be made more. But I hope he pulls the grainy picture crap out of the 2nd game. It would be much more engaging if it was done with only really nice, crisp pics. I also don't like when he just tints the tank a certain color and plops it in an area of that color. I like it best when it's just hidden really really well!

Have they made any video games out of those I Spy books? They should...

Actually Fronz, Hidden Object games are an entire genre of casual games.

Agreed Fronz, still it's a fun venture for the eyes, especially when they are non-grainy pictures where the tank is cleverly hidden.

I think there are some cheesy I Spy retail games I might've seen at Wal-Mart. Couldn't tell you anything about them though...

Finally beat it... epic fail though since it took me over an hour. Though in my defense I was web browsing when I too frustrated.
