What is it about 2013, that all these indie games with nebulous half a decade long development cycles are finally coming out in the Spring? First we had BattleBlock Theater, and now, Monaco is joining the fun on April 24th, on PC and XBLA.

This interesting little indie from Andy Schatz, designer and Pocketwatch Games founder, is basically a top down cooperative stealth game that's been the talk of the town amongst tradeshows and games festivals for some time now.

The official Facebook page confirms that a Mac version is currently in progress in addition to the PC and XBLA release, and that the game runs fine in Bootcamp.

Heart Forth, Alicia is the best Kickstarter I've seen in ages

There's been a resurgence of Metroidvania games in recent years thanks to crowdfunding but not all of them have lived up to our lofty ambitions for the genre. Many haven't. As such, I hope you're not so skeptical as to avoid...more

La-Mulana 2 aims to be more 'intuitive,' still hard as heck

La-Mulana was regarded by some as the hardest game ever. This isn't going to change, though Nigoro's Takami Naramura wants it to be slightly more intuitive so perhaps all those deaths don't lead to warranted frustration and ...more

Open world platformer/space shooter A.N.N.E is a retro buffet

Really, why even play clearly deficient retro games? I mean, where are the shmup segments in Metroid? Where are the open world segments in Contra? Where are the line segments in a bisected triangle? A.N.N.E. is one part platformer, one part shmup, one part RPG. And this year at PAX A.N.N.E. has all its systems in play. Maybe we'll all get to play it this year.more
