Why does anyone listen to this man? He needs to be shoved into a corner to make the quirky games he makes. The Wii has had five years to demonstrate that Motion Controls can craft new genres of games, and it has not done anything of the sort. I very much doubt Kinect or Move will, either.
Fable III was supposed to have Kinect support at launch; they made a big deal about it; then quietly whimpered "yea it doesn't have it".
Ahem...
Also the Zig and Zag header makes me smile.
You mean like FPS's and casual games right? Because that's what developers are gonna make because you know that's what sales.
Unless they open up kinect to indies there's an 88% chance nothing innovative will be made for the next 2 to 3 years. And by that time the Xbox 720 will be out.
So yeah Peter Molyneux stop talking and make a game we care about like
Black & White 3 or Druid 3.
Except when you need another controller, or your old controller, because we can't find any decent way to handle free movement with Kinect.
That's the most apt thing I've ever heard, the man can sell you a cat turd with the promises he makes. He should be in politics or something. The c*nt.
Exactly. If you can't move then there isn't a lot of things you can do other than make gestures at the screen.
The thing about new genres isn't far fetched. Like on the iOS you have genres specific to the touch controls. Maybe they're not outright new genres but they've been remained or refined for touch controls making the iPhone/itouch the ideal platforms. With the right type of games and developers I could see it happening with Kinect. But again, I feel like all this will be weighted towards casual.
Then you will be immortal.
