Why does anyone listen to this man? He needs to be shoved into a corner to make the quirky games he makes. The Wii has had five years to demonstrate that Motion Controls can craft new genres of games, and it has not done anything of the sort. I very much doubt Kinect or Move will, either.

The hacks that we've seen so far are pretty cool. What gameplay implications those have are anyone's guess. I'm cautiously optimistic.

Fable III was supposed to have Kinect support at launch; they made a big deal about it; then quietly whimpered "yea it doesn't have it".

If we can see something along the lines of Milo human/computer interaction, then I think we can achieve this goal. As much as I enjoy Kinect, the games are generally the same thing using hands and feet instead of remotes and glowing balls. Kinect has a ton of potential, at least if you're one of the people who isn't immediately writing it off or judging it by launch titles.

I think Peter is right, I can think of a billion cool ways to implement Kinect, for one in an RTS game. Kinect means developers can be even more creative now, even if Microsoft guns for the casual market, big name developers like Epic will do something amazing with this technology.

Unless they open up kinect to indies there's an 88% chance nothing innovative will be made for the next 2 to 3 years. And by that time the Xbox 720 will be out.

I was hoping to see something about Zig and Zag here but all I see is Kinnect, God how I miss those traitorous bastards. Come home boy's, Ireland needs you more than ever.
I'd love a more interactive Nancy Drew game for Kinect. And then you'd literally have to fight off the villains.
Even a broken clock is right twice a day. Eventually he'll say something that lines up with reality. Besides, I think there's a foundation for gameplay integration with Kinect. Maybe not shoehorning the Kinect experience into core games but instead using elements of Kinect to enhance gameplay. I don't think it's out of the realm if possibilities.

Maybe they're not outright new genres but they've been remained or refined for touch controls making the iPhone/itouch the ideal platforms. With the right type of games and developers I could see it happening with Kinect. But again, I feel like all this will be weighted towards casual.
