Molyneux fears 'trouble,' doesn't confirm a PC Fable 2 release photo

Will Fable 2 ever hit the PC? In a recent interview, the usually outspoken Lionhead boss Peter Molyneux remained somewhat tight-lipped about the possibilities of bringing Fable 2 to the PC. He told VideoGamer that Lionhead didn’t announce a PC version of the original Fable immediately and therefore there is no “announcement either positive or negative on a PC version of Fable 2...”

When pressured, Molyneux didn’t change his tune:

You see you said all the ‘maybes’ and ‘mights’ there -- I'll leave that with you! But these are the sorts of things, as you can imagine, I get into an enormous amount of trouble for. I have to be very careful!
It basically reads as a confirmation without the actual confirmation. Even though I tripped over PC gaming’s grave last week while I was walking around the cemetery (don’t ask), I can’t imagine that Fable 2 wouldn’t hit the platform if Lionhead was willing to port the title. What do you guys think? Would you play Fable 2 on the PC?

No, I'll just play it on my 360.

I will just play this on 360. No need for PC release.

Fable's controls and camera sensitivity lends itself to console play. They'll probably re-release with DLC content on PC later anyway.

Why isn't Destructoid reporting that online co-op will likely be available at launch after all?

The PC version is the reason I'm not buying the 360 version. Better graphics, more than likely extra content and better controls (360 pad will work with it no worries if it's under the "Games for Windows" label but also gives me the option of K&M controls).

Speak for yourself, first two posters. I haven't picked up a 360 up to this point (for many reasons but) mainly due to the fact that most of it's "exclusives" end up on the PC. Enjoy your 360 version, but don't act like everyone has or wants a 360.

Even when not talking, he can't avoid talking.

Despite Molyneux's antics, I'll be picking this up. For the 360 though.

@ MechaMonkey-

"despite" his antics?

What in the world do his "antics" have to do with whether or not you buy the game? I don't worry about Cliffy B when I consider buying Gears of War 2, just like I don't care what Dyack or Wright or anyone else has to say...at least in relation to whether or not I'm interested in their game.

I don't know if you really would let his antics keep you from buying a game you are otherwise interested in, but there are plenty of people who seem to be affected by how game designers act in the public arena, which astounds me. All that matters is whether the game is good or not.

As a PC enthusiast I'm inclined to say yes I will. But with my 360 sitting next to me and the fact I know I'd probably end up pirating it on PC I dont see any reason why I wouldn't just play it on the 360.

I'd buy for PC. I had a great time playing the first one on PC, and I don't think I would have enjoyed it as much on the console. It just makes more sense to me to play RPGs on a computer.

^ what Aertyr said.

Plus who wants to wait another 6-12 months until you get to play it?

Dunno.

People without 360s maybe?

If it turns out like Mass Effect, where the PC version >>>>console version, I would definitely get it for PC. The only people that don't want it on PC are 360 fanboys that want bragging rights. Exclusives suck. People need to realize that.

We'll have this at launch on 360; everyone in my flat really wants to play it, we all loved fable 1 for what it was. Also, having beaten fable 1 on both platforms, it plays a bit better with a controller.

Might still get it on pc, if it came; i dont own the 360, so itd be nice to have my own copy on my platform of choice.

If they came at the same time... who knows. Probably 360 still, because the co-op sounds awesome and would not likely be as integrated on pc (i certainly doubt the mercenary would be available).

So now its not possible to do on the PC now? Riiiight. Think I'll be skipping this game like Too Human. Can't be bothered with such sillyness... plus I don't own a 360 yet X-(

PC? Check.
PS3? Check.
X-Box 360? Oh, no 360. Sad day. :( I guess it'll be Fable and my PC making sweet, sweet cyberlove! Yipee!

Anyone who has both options and are gonna go with the 360... remember that for Fable 1, you couldn't beat hte game on Xbox (or at least, finish the plot). Only the "Lost Chapters" PC release actually finishes the game, similar to how Diablo 2 has the fifth chapter with Lords of Destruction that wraps up the story in a way the first original four don't.
