Man the fuck up,brainstorm, regroup, grow some bullocks and create a new IP.seriously sick and tired of Fable
Also I believe in Molyneux, yes he does need to stop overhyping games to MAXIMUM. HYPE. degree, however, truthfully what's holding him back are his bosses.(gave it away in some recent interview) He also shares the same birthday with me, thought I should mention that.
Seriously though that game is a half finished piece of shit. Only allowing you to do three expressions at any given time is a step backwards and whoever suggested it should recieve a swift kick to the groin. Removing the menus was the worst idea EVER and makes this game super fucking shallow. Also there's barely any customization unless you wanna pay real money for their little outfits and crap. Seriously there is a freaking dlc just to use a certain color of dye...yeah that happened. Get the new dye DLC today.
The truth is, most of you will never be satisfied unless you make your own damn game, which will suck too, but you'll think it's the best game ever created!
End of spoiled gamer nerd rant - I liked Fable 3. I think Peter is just jumping on the high expectation band wagon, which those types of expectations being fulfilled, is not a reality.
I'll admit, I'm picky with realism in games. I've given up on that, because let's face it.. today's graphics, ideas, and dedication to games still sucks. I'll just take what I can get - cheap shiny violence, and being the hero in every single game I play.
Spare a thought for the people on his team. Imgine working on a game that sells well and gets a sequel every time but your boss goes out of his way every time you finish a project to insult the game you busted your ass on.
The sad truth about the Fable series is that Molyneux doesn't know what I want. (no, I'm not using "I" as in gamers or anything like that. I as in me, myself, because I am the only one that matters.) I bought fable for full price and enjoyed it, although I was a little sad how they didn't deliver on everything they promised.
So Fable 2 came out and I waited for it to be cheap before grabbing it. It was a disappointment too, because it seems that Molyneux's thought process was, "Well we over-promised on the first one and underdelivered, so this time we'll just simplify it and condense it down into pure awesome." Sadly this simplification took out a lot of what I liked from fable 1.
When fable 3 came out, I was feeling more than a little torn. Fable 2 was a major disappointment, but I figured maybe it could still be salvaged. Still, caution is never a bad idea (unless it is) so I only put down the meager amount for a rental. Even this was too much, as I suffered my way through a game that was not intended for me.
It's a strange thing to play a series and watch as each sequel slowly develops into something you completely dislike. Fable has worked me down to the point where the next iteration (if it can be called that) is something I won't be playing. It's a terrible world, where the sun absorbs light, pluto isn't a planet, and my electronics are all secretly plotting my downfall. All I can do is pray that one day Molyneux will strike on the core concepts that I love once more.
Anyway, I thought Molyneux left Lionhead or something? Why is he still speaking words?

I know game developers should always be trying to improve - although some of the attempts to do so are truly awful - but if he has such a low opinion of his past efforts, if he's unwilling to stand by them, why should we trust his future efforts?
