That saddest part of it is that frankly, the first Fable is still the best of the bunch and at this point I have no faith that Fable #4 will do anything to change that.
Ah I get some perverse pleasure from beleiving in Molyneux about the next Fable game only to be let down. So screw it, I'm hyped for Fable 4 :D

Fable 2 was one of the games that sold me a 360. I have never gotten over my disappointment with that pile of donkey shit. Game of the year 08 my ASS G4 you bastards!! Thinking of that game makes me so angry it's ridiculous!!! ARGHHH!!!!
After Fable 2 I was done. If I want quaint and charming, I'll rub one out at a B& B in New Hampshire. How about you give us a good fucking game?

The guy is the Joe Namath of the video game industry. Everybody considers him to be so great until they actually look at what he's accomplished on paper. It's ridiculous.
I don't consider Fable 3 a bad game, but it certainly isn't great. And its problems had more to do with pacing and writing than any kind of technological issue. I think the Fable series as a whole has been vastly overrated. As an RPG it just doesn't hold a candle to the series' that developers like BioWare and Bethesda are producing.

Sorry for the disappointing last comment, but this new on is going to be amazing and have new updated features.
Looking back my last comment wasn't as awesome as I hyped it to be, but now that I've learned from that this new comment will make all the previous comments look like utter shit.
What's sad is that people will buy into this because they still think Peter Molyneux has left a good legacy on gaming.

This is why I had a bitter taste after winning Lifetime Achievement this GDC. He has an interesting background with Bullfrog, but he is a real tool.
Fable was a major let down compared to his insane hype, but it was playable. Fable 2, I struggled to make it past the tutorial level and played as an adult for 10 minutes before returning it. Fable 3, totally skipped it. Fable 4, skipping it. Fable 5, not even buying the system it's being released on.
So he admits the last one had flaws, and wants to make the next one better. Rage.

Thanks Peter! I almost had Fable 3 preordered for PC. But now that I know that it's not all that great, I won't have to! I wish all developers were this honest.

What's actually more interesting here is a little bit of insight to the trainwreck: poor planning for the project. Not the most specific thing, but comparing timelines, Dev diary frequency, and the types of things covered in them, I can definitely imagine how that breakdown went down.

The reason I think this is Molyneux billed Black & White as a successor to Populous and it hugely failed in this regard. Meanwhile Muckyfoot, made of ex-Bullfrog employees, made Startopia a successor to Dungeon Keeper to which it succeeded in this regard.
To be blunt I think Peter is nearly useless without his Bullfrog co-workers.

He's not kidding about the tech. Check out these tech Demo's utilizing new graphics tech on the 360.

I liked Fable 3 but the endgame "choices" ticked me off because they were mostly false dilemmas. Will you let these children starve to death, OR will you give them an endless supply of gift certificates to the finest French restaurant in town?
They decided to do without menus in fable 3..I sincerely hope the expand on that train of thought and do without fable 4 entirely. Seriously..who the hell ever thought menus were a problem? Design and layout can vary, but they are in damn near every game for a reason. Seeing a franchise that started out great decline in quality with each entry is mind boggling.you are losing your touch,peter. Either end the franchise or pass it off to someone competent in areas besides running their mouth.
Fable 3 was one of the worse games, i have ever played... the experience of the game was so bad, from the games menu to a wanna be free world but yet linear game... nothing about this game was good, nothing, lackluster combat that couldn't even hold a stick to any button masher, and the DLC was even worse, the first DLC was 20 mins of fights that we not a challenge, and a area that i will never return to, b/c there is no reason too.. the 2nd DLC again, the same horrible combat with no challenge, the areas are place to return to, but for a single quest, and thats it, once again they all have a liner path no free world roaming..
IMO i thought God of War 3 was a joke for the whole 7 hours of gameplay with NO replay value but this game is that but add some hours of wasted time with very little replay value, and i say that in a sense of who wasnt to do the same quests over and over, bad or good, and then wait through the horrible HORRIBLE timing after you become king to wait and see what happens each time... this game is nothing short of a joke
