The second title in SCEA's self-dubbed "Play, Create, and Share" genre, the colorful and particularly edit-able kart racer ModNation Racers, now has a firm release date.
Both versions of the title will arrive in stores on May 25th if your local retailer's UPS man decides to deliver. But even if he doesn't make it on time, you'll be able to grab some exclusive pre-order bonuses from the retailer you fancy. A recent PlayStation blog post is carrying the details that we've broken down below the fold. Spoiler: GameStop has the best, but each retailer will offer one of four "Mystery Mod and Kart" DLC packages.

Also, UGLY KRATOS IS UGLY. BURN IT WITH THE UNHOLY FIRE OF THE UNDERWORLD, AND MAKE SURE IT STAYS DEAD THIS TIME...
Judging from what I've seen, things pretty close to this were made during the beta, perhaps minus some of the finer details. But if the point of the game is customization, why would you use a stock character?
Besides, I'd much rather race as Master Chief and somehow try and make a vehicle resembling a Warthog. Just think, I'll probably be the only guy to think of that.

I'd prefer the Ratchet & Clank one, but I've already got tons of credit at GameStop. I'd just have to see if I can make Ratchet & Clank myself - along with Sly Cooper and Jak & Daxter.

Besides, the best mod in the beta was a Helghast soldier from Killzone 2 along with a Helghast Kart. All free.
