I forget which recent game had a color blind mode, I just remember it being no improvement for the most part. I think it was BlOps, could be wrong.
All I know is that the Uncharted 3 beta has the two teams as neon red and neon green, the hands down worst possible combination for color blind folks. Its impossible for me to tell the difference, even when the two names (i just got killed by so and so at the bottom of the screen) are right next to eachother. How about this, make one team red and the other team..... bright blue. Remember red v blue? So do I.

The problem with this statement is that there are MULTIPLE versions of color-blindness. To imply that there is only one kind of color-blindness is like saying that "all Africans are black". Really? South African whites and those in Mediterranean countries of Africa would disagree - strongly.
I have a color-blindness that only affects certain shades of particular colors. For example, I have difficulty with yellow and amber lights that are used on some servers that are used to indicate a hardware problem. Yet, I still have it lucky -- I know some people who are so color-blind, they're effectively seeing in black-and-white/greyscale.

@OneRed It was Bioshock 2. People that are colourblind were unable to complete some form of hacking sequence so they patched it in.

I thought all the Call of Duty series were ColorBlind-friendly from the start? Seeing as how they are all bland, grey shooters.

Color-blind features is a great option to have. Many people are color-blind. I was glade when DICE mentioned & did added it to Bad Company 2 a while back. I don't play CoD much but its good to hear they are adding it as well for there new game.
Although I do wish that these color-blind features were more veristile. Like instead of just giving us pre-defined colors, they need to make it so that we can select any color we wish for the things needed. Basically color sliders for each thing that is needed. It would be the best way.

i know that game that is the video game form of crack, peggle had color blind mode, i tried it to see a difference(mind im not color blind) i didnt really notice anything lol but yea glad to hear they are doing something for those who have issues. when i first saw the title i thought it was a option to play it in black and white which would be kinda cool :p
not to be mean, but just another time waster, data consuming feature (like 3D in black cops)that only 2% or less will actually use
A friend of mine is red-green colorblind so during a halo match we did red vs green. Hilarity ensued.

Colour blindness affects so many people, if there's a simple method to employ that creates an even playing field then it's not a time waster.
And how much effort do you think it takes to programme in a colour change option? Are you worried that the devs will have spent so much programming power setting a colour change option that they won't have any juice left in the tank for your magical, unicorn carrying, penis exploding kill streak reward?

@mirai kun: Yeah, and why waste time making braille books for blind people? I mean, there's no reason for it, such a poor use of resources to make something only a percentage of the population would use.
They will probably be more successful if they just add certain icons instead of colors. That's what I've seen in other games such as peggle. Obviously there's no way to account for all kinds of color blindness without personalized colors.

True. Symbols are better for games as it covers all bases. I wouldn't have been able to play hexic hd if it hadn't had a colour blind option, that yellow and green looked virtually the same to me.

Hexic had a colorblind mode? My friends played the hell out of that on my xbox and I had to sit and wonder wtf was going on. *runs to xbox to check*

This is fantastic news. Playing the mp map on MW2 that had the cabin on the hill was murder for me...everything looked brown. Being color blind is a pain, good to see someone helping us out...although I have to admit that I won't be purchasing MW3 (BF3 all the way, baby!), it's still a nice gesture.
yes thank you! I am color blind and cant tell the difference between the red and green names that pop up over peoples head so I end up getting shot by people I thought were on my team.
I knew that World at War had alternate color schemes, same with Black Ops. I wonder what's different this time aroiund
yay for color blind bros, but maybe it sucks a bit for everyone else? Will it be easier to spot enemies in color-blind mode even for non-color-blind bros? I guess so. Then in order to be competitive we'll all have to play in this mode which is probably uglier.
