Oh look, a new behind-the-scenes trailer for Modern Warfare 3.
They've promised some huge changes for the end of the trilogy and, if all is to be believed they just might come through. Our hands-on time and preview of the game were both extremely positive.
In this latest behind-the-scenes, the overwhelmingly charismatic guys from Sledgehammer Games detail two of the threequel's newest editions, Kill Confirmed and Team Defender.
What is the deal with this Kill Confirmed mode? The first few trailers really went nuts about this game mode, and it seems like such a minor feature. Deathmatch where you need to run over the body to finalize the point score? To me it feels more like it's something a good programmer could mash together in a few hours...
Yeah, no big deal is it, but probably to encourage (or force) players to keep moving, not camp in some little spot on a balcony etc. Probably far more chaotic but maybe a little less fun, who knows.
I honestly like the reasoning behind Kill Confirmed. It forces you to move and cuts down on camping. Of course, this being CoD, I'm sure somebody will find a way to exploit the hell out of it anyway.
Wait "the end of the triliogy?" There isn't going to be a 4 and 5 and 18? The world will have to "meh" with the attempts like black ops and world at war?
Damn, I really heard a lot of hype about the custom game modes, thinking you could REALLY customise them like in halo, but that brief look makes it seem as though it's genuinely the same amount of customisation as MW2 but they're bigging it up? Did I miss something? Still, I am looking forward to this...a lot less though because of Skyrim, which will rule my life.
I actually like the dog tag points system... iit's an interesting idea that should make for much less of a campfest and a faster paced game. The flag game also seems to have the potential to be less of a campfest as long as the person that actualy grabs and carries the flag gets mega points. A lot of times these modes aren't well thought out and people get more points by camping the objective than simply taking the objective.
The custom modes with no killstreaks... ok, color me excited. I may finally decide to more seriously get into the COD series. Normally I prefer more team based shooter games, but the recent releases all tend to have real issues with their basic infrastructure and being able to easily play the game with friends. It's a bit ironic that COD seems to be leaning more friends/team based, while the other games seem to be leaning more towards camp for kills modes.
Wait, so denying an oppnent's kill in Kill Confirmed nets you EXP but doesn't change the match score? Yeah, that won't get abused for EXP at all
In other news, I love how proud they are of doing the custom gametypes and community integration Bungie (and others, but less so) have been doing for years.
Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!

Kill Confirmed = Halo Reach's Headhunter
Also, yep, seems exactly like every single COD since MW2. Shocker.
Buying for the Story, Co-op and then selling. It can help pay for any BF3 DLC down the line.
Feelsbatman :(

*looks at the low amount of comments*
Lol.
Watch MW3 break every sales record around and then you will see how much people care about MW.
LOL.
