Modern Warfare 2 teaser deciphered: What does it all mean? photo

That was fast. It was only last night that Infinity Ward gave us our very first glimpse of the latest installment in the Call of Duty series, Modern Warfare 2 (which is apparently missing "CoD" from its name?), and already the Internet seems to have collectively figured out many of the teaser's subtleties.

The fine people over at Binge Gamer put out their play-by-play of the teaser earlier today, and the sheer number of tiny details they were able to make out is impressive, to say the least.

Examples include translating the Russian dialog, somehow catching what appears to be a handful of MW2's perks (shown above), and even spotting what many believe to be Christ the Redeemer. Obviously this is purely (albeit convincing) speculation at this point, but it's interesting to think about nonetheless.

Infinity Ward has stated that MW2 is no longer part of the Call of Duty series. Modern Warfare is it's own series now. :)

Its probably means more grenade spam and enemy closets.

After all grenade warfare would have been a more accurate subtitle for CoD.

@Kyousuke: Remember when you were banned for being a troll?
That was fun.
On topic, it's kind of cool to see people getting creative with their trailers. I like the idea of a seemingly simple trailer that's packed with information that you have to decipher.

I'm gonna go out on a limb and say the image of Christ is from Rio de Janeiro, a much better known shape/icon than the "Angel of the North" in Newcastle like somebody on the BingeGamer site claims.

For one of the new Perks, you carry two swords on your back, and instead of the regular knife animation, your dude drops his gun, and slashes the enemy with both swords at the same time. FACT.

It's pretty obvious they were put there for a reason. Why else would IW make it so you could zoom in and scan the trailer?

Wow, IW certainly snuck a lot into that trailer, didn't they?

That "X" looks a lot like the 360's Guide Button, if you look at how it curves.
