Modern Warfare 2 player feedback may lead to more map packs photo

During a recent earnings conference call, Activision publishing CEO Mike Griffith said that the publisher is only planning to do two unique map packs for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. Both of which will be timed Xbox 360 exclusives. We thought it an odd decision that wouldn’t stick in our report. Looks like it’s not sticking.

MTV Multiplayer spoke with Infinity Ward’s community manager Robert Bowling via e-mail about Griffith’s remark.  Bowling said that IW is committed to supporting the game, and if the community wants more content, they’ll deliver more than just two map packs.

“As far as DLC goes,” Bowling said, “we love it and plan to support Modern Warfare 2 heavily with post-launch support. We’ve confirmed we’ll be doing AT LEAST two map packs which were announced at E3 as a timed exclusive for Xbox 360.

“The fact that we confirmed at least two map packs doesn’t mean there won’t be more; honestly we plan on shaping our DLC based on community feedback from the full game, and first two DLC map packs. Therefore, the community will really determine what comes after that.”

So it’s up to you guys, the players. Find Infinity Ward’s car and stop the New Order. And remember … music is a weapon.

being that the first map pack comes out day one on the 360, there better be fucking more than two map packs. World at War has what 12 downloadable maps? And thats the knock off game!

I don't care if they suck, I just get sick of killing people in the same locations pretty quickly.

FUCK YES @ More DLC, I echo what Cheeburga said. I want to cap some domes all over the world. For CoD4 all we got was a measly ONE piece of DLC which had 4 maps, 3 that were 'OK' and 1 that was a turd that no one plays because no one plays 1v1 mode, which is the only mode that map comes up in. Wanna know why my(and my friends') copy of CoD4 is collecting dust? Lack of real DLC support. Please don't let WaW win the DLC war(lol) by just being mediocre.

Also, MOTHERFUCK YES @ Brad's final sentence reference. \m/ You win +1 internets(or whatever it is the kiddies are saying nowadays).

There better be more! WaW has like 3 of them now....and IW usually makes the supieror product!

Also, as a PS3 owner I'm not happy with this timed exclusive DLC crap. As a gamer I feel like I'm being punished for some unknown reason. Especially with BIG impact games as COD, or Fallout and GTA

@ Mattchewie, I know what you mean, it really is a retarded situation. But thats the corporate greed of Western culture unfortunately, the gamers don't benefit, only the companies.

Does Bowling mean that they're going to support the community by releasing more map packs as they did with CoD4? We have yet to see the community map pack they talked about.

The feedback may lead to more?

So the feedback that no ones wants to give them extra money to pay for stuff that should already be in there means instead of including it, they'll just ignore you.

You know, istead of fighting and killing each other in war torn battle maps, how about a map with a mall setting? A school setting? Extra points for adding cowering civilians.

Guarantee that one of the map packs is a throwback pack and has maps from the first Modern Warfare.
