Infinity Ward community manager Robert Bowling has revealed that the patch for the notorious "javelin glitch" has passed certification by Microsoft and is due out today. In case you were unaware, the glitch allows players to do something naughty with a piece of equipment that turns them into a suicide bomber, killing themselves while taking down all surrounding players.

Kind of amusing that Microsoft can certify a patch pretty quickly when it wants to. Meanwhile, the Castle Crashers patch, the one required to enjoy the online section of the game at all, was sat on by the platform holder for months and months following the game's release. Seems that, if you want a patch released in any decent amount of time, you need to be called Infinity Ward.

When Castle Crashers sells 4 million + copies in less than a month it will get it's patches faster. Infinity Ward deserves the keys to the executive bathroom at MS plus a free massage with a happy ending.

Thankfully, I never impaled anyone though I remember on couple occasions almost getting hit myself because people are idiots and throw spears when they want rather than waiting for the officiating crew to get set. Bastards.

Valve are releasing their next patch for TF2 after all the classes are updated. That's because it adds so much to the game, it would be well over a gigabyte, so chances are Valve will be forced by MS to charge for it. And since Valve don't want people paying 7 times, they're going to chuck everything in one patch.
Assassin's Creed 2 had that glitch where you couldn't leave a certain level or something (don't have it yet) and that got fixed faster than this did!

Not to mention the fact that, with this particular problem being so relatively minor coding-wise (the javelin glitch), this patch should have probably been completed even sooner. Several weeks to stop a grenade from continually cooking when you switch a weapon is pretty dang lame.
Bah, guess it just wasn't for me.
I only wish that instead of simply patching it out, they would auto-murder anybody who tried to do it.
