A portable Dreamcast is already the stuff that dreams (see what I did there?) are made of, but adding in a VMU unit is liking icing on this little cupcake of a game system. No, it's not just a VMU slot, though it does include one. This is an actual functioning Virtual Memory Unit, little screen, buttons and all, built right into the face of this mod.
Techknott is now on his third iteration of portable Dreamcast, and his experience shows with the latest model. There's a PSOne display, CD drive, SD card slot, AV outputs and actual Dreamcast controls.

I've seen smaller, but that was INGENIOUS putting two external ports on the side. Seriously, we need that for a Gamecube portable. I really wish I could afford this because it would be so funny to play that goliath.
Amazing on how people can modify consoles and make them compact for portable use. If something like this came out on the market, I'd be all over it as the DC is my favourite system of all time.
I see he graduated from the DS Lite School of Putting the Start Button Way the Hell Out of the Way. (Don't get me wrong, I'd still sell my soul and the souls of three of my neighbors for the thing.)

Pretty sure I won't be adding anything that ginormous to my collection anytime soon. Certainly not "portable".
Man, I would just play Jet Grind Radio on that thing everywhere, blasting music.
