A while back Dale North, Destructoid editor and kung fu action star, informed us all that the idea of Street Fighter IV finding its way onto the Wii was not such a far fetched one at all. His evidence was a quote from the game's producer and quotes are some of the best evidence around so here are a few more on the subject -- and remember, Capcom is set to release nine titles for the Wii by April 2010 and some of them are really big and haven't been revealed yet.
The first comes from Capcom V.P. Christian Svensson, who was asked if we would never see SFIV on the Wii. "Never is such a long time. Beyond that, I have nothing to add right now," he said in the Capcom community forums as dramatic music swelled behind him. This was then followed up by the second quote from Capcom Community Manager Seth Killian who commented, "While not every aspect of Street Fighter IV's presentation would likely be possible on the Wii, the core elements are obviously possible. As for "never happen!" -- I'd hope that if Tatsunoko vs. Capcom has taught us anything, it's that we should never say never when it comes to Capcom. Unless you want to talk about more Cadillacs and Dinosaurs. Never!"
Hold on. Change that headline. Who cares about SFIV on the Wii if we're never getting more Cadillacs and Dinosaurs? Who cares about life anymore? What's the point of going on without that faint glimmer of hope that one day Cadillacs and dinosaurs will again meet? Sleep well tight shirt wearing, muscle bound dinosaur fighters, for Capcom loves you not.

Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!
Yea, don't port it.
"The 'powerhouse' of the game, Mess equals to Mike Haggar from Final Fight series."
This is clearly a lie. No one equals to Mike Haggar.
Welcome to journalism/news. You will not be 100% interested in every story, and each and every story will not apply to you. If there's 1 person out there who only owns a Wii, and might be interested in SF4 for it, the story is a success.
Now that you know how "news" works, it would be awesome to see less douchiness in the future.
Calling someone else a douche...
HAHAHAHAHAHA
Yay irony.
And Cadillacs and dinosaurs is awesome, where else can you make a T-rex docile by uppercutting it.
I'd like to add Final Fight and Punisher to the list of all time greats we have yet to re-experience. Ah, the good ol' days.
Yea, don't port it."
First off, ever hear of a classic controller? Still not perfect, but I'd prefer it over 360 controls. Second, I remember hearing TvC could have online w/out friends codes. Mayhaps the same with SFIV...
Still, I'd rather buy it for PC.
True, but I'm not a fan of buying an extra $20 controller in addition to a $60 controller just to play all your games. Also, for SF4, I'd prefer the 360 controller, and just use the analog. We'll see about the online play if it ever does see the light of day. My guess is we'll still see friend codes. High Voltage tried like hell to not use them, but ended up "adhering to Nintendo's standards".
Overall, like you, I'd rather buy it for PC or PS3 for that matter.
This is a relevant article. You can shut the fuck up now.
Every console has hidden costs. Well, maybe not the PS3, but it's upfront costs are pretty damn high.... XboxLive, for example.
As long as you're not an achievement whore, you can keep making hotmail accounts, and keep getting free 1-month Live Gold trials.
I see your point though :D
EA got MoHH2 out with no friend codes what so ever.
Bro you just made my day, I am laughing beyond word. Even when Nintendo had to be attacked by companies like Intellevison, 3DO Panasonic, Sega Atari, Commodore, why the do not faulter is because the always allow their trust worthy developers always being welcome to their systems. Yes the Wii will have people in the small minute group speaking ill about it getting SFIV because like Toyota the get products that others can only dream about. Capcom Knows we are the majority world over as Nintendo owners, we shall even introduce it to our children who are second generation Nintendo players, because SF is Violent enough with responsible characters and play that cannot corrupt our Children. I love Nintendo.
It would probably not be a great idea. Unless a few changes were made. Graphically. And I guess we could forget about online. eh...
