What I'm asking is a legitimate "Why do YOU want a new IP from THIS company, and what purpose will it serve to YOU?"
You get new IPs all the time, from other companies. If your answer is "I want a new NINTEDO IP" it goes back to "why?". What does Nintendo giving you a 100% new and untested IP give you that other new and untested IPs from the hundreds of other companies do not?
And finally, why are you asking for new IPs? Shouldn't you be asking for new GAMES instead, with the IP being functional to the GAME and not the game to the IP?
Creating a new IP, then working a game AROUND it is great for marketing, but pretty poor for game design.

Heck yeah, Prime would be perfect for the device. More than anything, actually, because it had that extremely innovative scanning technique in the first place. Whole ton of possibilities, really, and I will rally behind games to first pick up the potential for the device.
Can we please have a new fucking IP already that isn't a fucking party game? Why is Nintendo so creatively bankrupt?

Both series need it! While you're at it bring Eternal Darkness and Startropics back, and don't make people wait another 20-25 years for another Kid Icarus! And for God's sake, do something with the Fatal Frame license. Resurrect the tetralogy in HD!!!
Personally, I'd rather see Metroid in 2D (with 3D effects) sidescrolling glory, but I'll take Metroid for the Wii U. So long as it's not another Other M. The Prime series was great.
Less so enthusiastic about Star Fox, mainly because everything they've done with it, aside from the 3DS remake of the N64 game, has been pretty crappy.

Give us classic 2D metroid with amazing HD hand drawn art, and put the damn map on the Wii U controller screen. ***NOBODY WANTS OTHER M 2***.
I would very much like to see a 2.5D Metroid with Other M's controls, without all the narrative bullshit that accompanied it, the absymal linearity, and without the awkwardness of switching between 1st and 3rd person to shoot missles.
Let's be honest here: Other M did a couple of things way right, and a couple of things super wrong. I think that Other M is the perfect example of a concept being at odds with the execution.
I think a full 2D Metroid should be something made for a handheld console.
About StarFox Wii U: I don't know how I feel. I mean, I kind of want them to make a worthy successor to StarFox 64, but at the same time, I wonder what they could possibly do to make a "better" StarFox, without looking like they're pandering to the nostalgia of their fans.
