Destructoid is gaming news, community, videos, and sometimes love. Take the tour or jump in with Facebook:

Nintendo and Shigeru Miyamoto visited a preschool in Japan and demonstrated to the kids how to play Wii Music. Miyamoto interacts with all of the kids as they each get a turn playing the game and trying out all of the different instruments.

Okay, this video is beyond adorable. It's so adorable, it makes me want to throw up rainbows and butterflies. Seriously, this is cute overload to the extreme. Miyamoto and the kids start singing together at the end and my head almost exploded in a giant explosion of joy.

I'm sure I would have turned out much better if Miyamoto had showed up for any stage of my schooling.

That was adorable, in a really awesome way. Too bad the general media doesn't see more things like this, to help sway the opinion that all games/gamers are bad. These kids are like, 6, who could they harm?

@cataract

Yeah, doesn't Nintendo know that gaming is all about 'roided out space marines who curse gratuitously? Also all games are supposed to be brown and gray ONLY.

It's really great to see the big old Nintendo guy interacting with kids like that. ^_^

So weird to think that many of kids are hearing the SMB1 1-1 theme for the first time via Wii Music, and that they were -20 years old when the game first came out.

I hate kids. I think they're gross, smelly, annoying and the stuff they try to pass as art is downright terrible... but even I will admit this was kind of cute.

I know I'm gonna get hate for this, but I think it's appropriate...:

I like ice cream, cherry pie
And lemonade with summer breeze
I like rainbows, leafy trails
And puppy dogs with bumble bees
I like cotton candy gum
And bumper cars at carnivals
Golden skies and hazel eyes
And sand in-between my toes...but

SOMETHIN' TELLS ME THAT I HATE YOU!
SOMETHIN' TELLS ME I MUST KILL YOU!

@apemon: Yes, K.K. Slider (or Totakeke) was made to resemble Kazumi Totaka, who is the director for Wii Music, and long-time music composer for Nintendo (Animal Crossing, Yoshi's Story, and Wave Race 64 to name a few).

No matter how much Nintendo may be ignoring us right now, it's undeniable that they are still magic. I mean look at this. Obviously it's not targeted towards us, who cares? Miyamoto decided to design something that would make kids under seven really happy, and he clearly succeeded. Good for him.

...I...I think I understand this game now. It was never for me. When they said casual, they meant casual. They were just further expanding the market. I'm not sure if it will sell in the end but I can't be mad at Nintendo for at least trying.
