Not much has been said about Pikmin 3 in quite a while now. Nintendo has stated that they're working on a new entry to the Pikmin series for the Wii, but that's all they've ever really said.
The BAFTA Video Game awards ceremony took place in the United Kingdom tonight where Shigeru Miyamoto was in attendance and gave the Official UK Nintendo Magazine a status update on the highly anticipated third entry. Nintendo is still working on the project and development is "well under way."
Rejoice! Okay, so that's not really much to go on still, but it is better than nothing, right? Maybe Nintendo will actually reveal Pikmin 3 at E3 this year. Just maybe.
Hamza Aziz, Destructoid's Community Director, has been here since day one. He was born when a tiger coughed up a hairball into a pool of ooze. He was one of the original Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles before budget cuts. Hamza works as a previews editor and manages a team in San Francisco. lol The sad part is if the release a new mario, metroid, pikmin, and zelda this year next year we'll hear "I haven't dusted off my Wii in a year nintendo, start making games again"
Man, I never get my hopes up on this sort of thing. I was SO sure that Pikmin 3 would be officially announced last year, and likewise last last year. I'm not sure if I can handle the heartbreak if they hold it off another year. I love the Pikmin games.
