If you're not yet sick of the "hardcore/casual" distinction, here's Nintendo legend and funky rascal Shigeru Miyamoto, boasting that 2010 is a great year for hardcore Wii fans. Hyping the mysterious new Legend of Zelda game, alongside titles like Super Mario Galaxy 2, the impish developer believes that there's plenty for waggle fans to be please about.
"This year's going to be really great for the hardcore Nintendo player, especially with Super Mario Galaxy 2," beams Miyamoto. "It's action-packed software and when I say action-packed software, it's not just going to show you [pre-set] action movements in the 3D format. Rather, this is action-packed software that you can manipulate with your own will and your own control.
"I really want many households to be able to have a hands-on experience of Mario Galaxy 2. [Elsewhere] I didn't have any involvement in Metroid Other M, but it is on its way. And also we are working on the New Legend Of Zelda for Wii. So from this year to the next, I hope that the hardcore-type gamers are really looking forward to the multiple Nintendo titles on Wii. And also, we are working on the [new] Pikmin."
That's quite a lot. Throw in some promising third party stuff like The Last Story, Arc Rise Fantasia, The Conduit 2 and Flip's Twisted World, and we really do have a stellar lineup. I'll be the first to admit that for a long time, the Wii held no interest for me. That's really changed in 2010, and some of this year's Wii games might be more exciting to me than anything on the PS3 and 360 right now.
Miyamoto: 2010 is 'great year' for hardcore Nintendo fans [CVG]
I'll never be able to look at a chicken and a fox suits the same again. O__O
Furry jokes.
=3
Don't these Furies over heat during sex?
I mean, I get hot and sweaty when I have sex naked...
Those full body suits gotta be killer
*Laughs*
*reads Milobrin's comment*
*throws up*
A Boy And His Blob. Tatsunoko vs Capcom. Muramasa: The Demon Blade. Data East Arcade Classics. Ultimate Shooting Collection. And God knows how many other retro compilations that I don't remember.
What the Wii is missing is MAINSTREAM games. Aside from No More Heroes and MadWorld, there's very little mainstream stuff on the Wii that isn't completely outclassed by mainstream games on the PS3 and 360.
The Wii needs a God of War. It needs a GTA. It needs a Bioshock. It needs a Modern Warfare (and no, a gimped version of COD4 released 2 years after it's original release doesn't cut it). Only then will this generations' "Hardcore" gamer enjoy the Wii - because this generations' "Hardcore" doesn't want Hardcore games. They want Mainstream ones.
Furry sex is sooooo 2003.
2003 was a rough year for me.
Wii's lookin good this year.
and jesus crist that header image wtfsauce
The only hardcore involving my wii I know of, involves foreplay, and even then sometimes it doesn't even do that.
Just sayin'
That said, I wish I didn't need the MotionPlus for the new LoZ. Bloody annoying, but if the quality of the series is anything to go by, I'll happily pay it.
How can he take the picture when he's in it?
The games already out this year
Tatsunoko Vs Capcom (I have only this so far for 2010)
No More Heroes 2
Red Steel 2
Games that are coming sometime this year
Monster Hunter Tri
Super Mario Galaxy 2
Metroid Other M
Grinder
Sin & Punishment 2
Sonic 4
Zelda Wii (assuming @ end of 2010)
NBA Jam
Condiuct
Prince of Persia: The Forgotton Sands
That's is a huge amount of games I am excited for. I know I won't be able to buy all of these games due to my budget, but I'm going to have fun with many of these. I'm still having fun with TvC, even after two months already and just imagine how much fun people will have with SMG 2 or Other M or any of the aforementioned great games.
Juvenile "Call of Crap" comment aside, I couldn't agree with you more. I had grown tired of Nintendo putting out the "same old thing" every generation, but I just don't think the hardcore HD AAA stuff the PS3 and Xbox 360 puts out has any staying power. It got boring. It stopped being fun, all the releases started blending together. Nintendo just seems much more consistent with their magicness and fun. Not to say that there isn't anything like that on the PS3 or 360, that is
@the7k
I think you're confusing "mainstream" and "violent".
Are you saying that BioShock is 'mainstream'?
Super Mario Galaxy
Super Mario Galaxy 2
New Super Mario Bros. Wii
Little King's Story
Epic Mickey
Arc Rise Fantasia
Last Story
Endless Ocean: Blue World (and Endless Ocean 1 if you don't mind a step backwards)
The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess
Silent Hill: Shattered Memories
THE VIRTUAL CONSOLE, which basically turns the Wii into something like 5 other old school consoles with plenty of games for your choosing, including classics like Super Mario Bros. and The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time.
Seriously, there is *no* reason not to be interested in the Wii or claim it is "not hardcore" (assuming you're dumb enough to use such an ignorant word in the first place outside of pron) unless you're the type of gamer who thinks "hardcore" means blood, guns, and boobs.
