Mistwalker developing an iPhone game photo

It may be true that developer Mistwalker is hard at work on some brand new, epic RPG for us to blow hundreds of hours on in turn-based combat, but it appears they're also working on something a bit lighter as well. Hironobu Sakaguchi, creator of Final Fantasy, and founder of Mistwalker has revealed that the company is developing an iPhone game as well. Of course, knowing Mistwalker the game could be 100 hours long and no lighter than any of their console games.

During a Happy New Year post the developer said that in 2010 his long awaited new blockbuster project would be coming and that the team is "also working on a project for iPhone," which, "should be released soon as well." He also posted the above image. Lost Odyssey or Blue Dragon in iPhone form? I'm taking bets on which franchise now.

I'm legitimately more interested in seeing if he does more pictures in this style than I am in any potential games.

Sequel to Chrono Cross please. But make it more like Trigger, with the double and triple techs and such.

I'd rather see a Chrono sequel closer to Chrono Cross, but with a lot more double and triple techs.

"I'd rather see a Chrono sequel closer to Chrono Cross, but with a lot more double and triple techs." And I'd like to see a sequel with a good ending. Or one with multiple endings like Chrono Trigger with plot changing side quests.

I swear if his "huge blockbuster project" is another blue dragon game I am going to lose it. It better, BETTER be something Lost Odyssey related...

I want it to be Lost Odyssey. Hell, I'd settle for a new franchise similar in Lost Odyssey's vein. But I know its going to be some Blue Dragon BS.

I wish they would make something with feelplus Inc. again like Lost Odyssey. No more Blue Dragon crap :(

Lost Odyssey is the best JRPG of this generation so far, FFXIII will probably be better though. And in spite of how good FFX, XII and Persona 4 were I still sometimes think of Shadow Hearts Covenant as being the best JRPG of last generation. We need more games of that caliber!
