Mirror's Edge to get DLC, PS3 lead platform

In yet more news that will make Sony fans feel all warm and cherished, it has been revealed that EA's highly anticipated Mirror's Edge will be using the PlayStation 3 as its lead development platform. The news comes from the latest issue of OPM, which reveals that the Black Box o' Blu-Ray is development team DICE's platform of choice.

In the article, the team also talks Trophy support and reveals that Mirror's Edge is slated to have some downloadable content heading its way. The game's Trophies are planned to be ported over as Achievements for the Xbox 360 version, which smacks of a most delicious irony, and there doesn't seem to be much more info on the DLC side of things as DICE will talk about it at a later date.

At least some developers aren't intimidated by the arcane magicks inside the PS3.

What deal with the Devil has EA made to harness the power of the PS3?

How many deals with the Devil can one company have, I thought it was capped at one? Hmm, I guess they are large enough to have a good pool of souls to trade for satanic favors. Do you get some kind of bonus for relinquishing your soul to the mighty EA for trade to Satan? A Dead Space T-Shirt? The mind wonders...

Are they both going to be released at the same time, or is the PS3 version being released first?

LOL @ Wardrox.

This is definitely a game that I will only buy after I've seen some good gameplay vids and read some decent reviews. Right now there is nothing about it that interests me except for the beautiful graphics.

They better not fuck up the PC version by catering to the PS3 crowd. Isn't the PS3 supposed to be a super computer anyway? So shouldn't it be basically the same thing? What's that? My cheap $600 rig already has more horsepower than the $700 PS3 (Australian dollars)?

DICE built the Battlefield series for PC and they weren't exactly the smoothest, most bug free games available. I hope this is a lot more polished.

am I the only one that doesn't find this game interesting? I am looking forward to a lot of new titles coming out, but this one seems kind of bland......... I guess I will have to see it

Wasn't this originally gonna be exclusively for the PS3 anyway? Makes sense.

Let's hope the game lives up to the hype in the end then! At least the decision on which version to get has been decided.

Wow, another game being developed on the PS3. Geese is this some kind of trend? Not that I mind. It actually makes sense, just weird to hear it.
