Before you begin jumping out of your seat from the sheer excitement thinking about how well your computer will run Mirror's Edge brings, please take note that the following requirements for the PC version are the minimum system specs.
Alright? Now commence jumping!
Operating System: Microsoft Windows XP SP2/Vista
Processor: Intel Pentium 4 3.0 GHz or 100% compatible equivalent
Memory: 1GB RAM
Video Card: 256MB memory with Shader Model 3.0*
HDD Space: 8GB
DVD Drive: 1x DVD Drive
Soundcard: Soundcard with DirectX 9.0c compatibility
DirectX: DirectX 9.0c
Network: Online connection required for access to Leaderboards
In case someone had told you otherwise, the answer is no -- PhysX won't be required; it's completely optional. It's also worth mentioning that the supposed level editor for Mirror's Edge will not be making it in time for the game's January 13 launch date, if the toolkit ever gets released at all.
So, how blazing fast is Mirror's Edge going to run on your system?

"bitches love sandcastles" ... yet, there is no sandcastle in that photo. We may never truly understand his ways.

Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!
I haven't heard anything about one and assumed there wouldn't be one.
guess thats why i got me a console (less upgrading, minus harddrives)
these "minimum specs" numbers don't really mean anything
I think Minimum Specs mean that the game will "RUN" as is "Boot into the main menu.
Also, what do they use for Minimum Specs? XP or Vista, because my games lose like 10 FPS under Vista and take longer to load using the same configuration.
Yeah I know, minimum spec = barely runs. It was my attempt at a joke.
Most PC gamers consider recommended requirements as the real minimum spec to actually enjoy playing the game.
And I'm pretty sure they mean Windows XP when they state these specs.
fuck!
Sorry...I'll try and contain myself. I really only get a new computer about every 5 years. I gots me a new computer for this, well, the wave of games coming out for PC suddenly. I got Dead Space and Fallout 3 already and they both run on full specs so I'm sure it'll run decently.
Now i can look while jumping with a fast mouse look it might be playable now.
the blury textures did not help either.
I actually mostly meet the specs... which is bizzare, as my PC's a couple years old now.
I mean, I've upgraded it and I've got a fairly recent video card, but still.
Processor's not quite up to snuff, though, but it's only two-tenths of a megahertz.
Which, of course, means that attempting to run it will probably make my rig burst into flames.
my PC is PPU equiped

even in a crappy low res youtube video it looks a hell of a lot better.
Processor: Intel Pentium 4 3.0 GHz or 100% compatible equivalent
Most people who have "gaming" PCs now have dual core. This requires much older tech than that.
-Windows Vista
-AMD Athlon 6000+ @ 3.14GHz
-2GB 1066 DDR2
-(2x) EVGA 9800GT 1GB edition in dual SLi (aka 2GB Video Memory)
-1.3TB harddrive space
Horray i feel happy now =D
