Mirror's Edge PC system specs are here, level editor not coming at launch photo

Before you begin jumping out of your seat from the sheer excitement thinking about how well your computer will run Mirror's Edge brings, please take note that the following requirements for the PC version are the minimum system specs.

Alright? Now commence jumping!

Operating System: Microsoft Windows XP SP2/Vista
Processor: Intel Pentium 4 3.0 GHz or 100% compatible equivalent
Memory: 1GB RAM
Video Card: 256MB memory with Shader Model 3.0*
HDD Space: 8GB
DVD Drive: 1x DVD Drive
Soundcard: Soundcard with DirectX 9.0c compatibility
DirectX: DirectX 9.0c
Network: Online connection required for access to Leaderboards

In case someone had told you otherwise, the answer is no -- PhysX won't be required; it's completely optional. It's also worth mentioning that the supposed level editor for Mirror's Edge will not be making it in time for the game's January 13 launch date, if the toolkit ever gets released at all.

So, how blazing fast is Mirror's Edge going to run on your system?

Well those are just the min. specs. So I dunno, maybe the recommended specs will rape PCs.

Wait... There was talk of a level editor? Even if it came post release that would be awesome.

I haven't heard anything about one and assumed there wouldn't be one.

Assuming I wanted to play this game (still doesn't sound super appealing to me), my beast will run it like a champ... 6 times over.

dang! i'd have to rebuild my desktop completely (since its like 2 years old) and my hp dv6700t's vid card just isn't up to par. so can we assume that a 2.5 T9300 Intel C2D cpu should be good for processor specs?

guess thats why i got me a console (less upgrading, minus harddrives)

Doesn't look more demanding than Crysis; safe.

recommended specs = real minimum specs

these "minimum specs" numbers don't really mean anything

I think Minimum Specs mean that the game will "RUN" as is "Boot into the main menu.

Also, what do they use for Minimum Specs? XP or Vista, because my games lose like 10 FPS under Vista and take longer to load using the same configuration.

Assuming my PC could run The Orange Box on medium, would my machine stand a chance?

Yeah I know, minimum spec = barely runs. It was my attempt at a joke.

Most PC gamers consider recommended requirements as the real minimum spec to actually enjoy playing the game.

And I'm pretty sure they mean Windows XP when they state these specs.

I can't believe my comp can't even run this (due to the shader)

AWWWWWW Yeeeeeh dick'eads! I spit on these specs! I'm so much better than you lowly console maggots.

Sorry...I'll try and contain myself. I really only get a new computer about every 5 years. I gots me a new computer for this, well, the wave of games coming out for PC suddenly. I got Dead Space and Fallout 3 already and they both run on full specs so I'm sure it'll run decently.

and the aliasing on the console versions is horrible,. everything is so white and damn clean it stands out even worse than it does on all the other console games now at least i can turn on and force some 8x AA to hide that crap.

the blury textures did not help either.

Hm...
I actually mostly meet the specs... which is bizzare, as my PC's a couple years old now.
I mean, I've upgraded it and I've got a fairly recent video card, but still.
Processor's not quite up to snuff, though, but it's only two-tenths of a megahertz.
Which, of course, means that attempting to run it will probably make my rig burst into flames.

Sweet. My system will totally run this. I'm glad I forked out the money for a way-better-but-not-bleeding-edge card last year.

Pretty normal for a multiplatform game probably created with consoles in mind.

Guys.

Processor: Intel Pentium 4 3.0 GHz or 100% compatible equivalent

Most people who have "gaming" PCs now have dual core. This requires much older tech than that.

Of course the minimum specs would not have shadows, nor textures, and there will be one enemy at time, and the game will run at 10 fps!
