This morning developer DICE announced that Mirror's Edge will ship for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 on November 11. The PC version, as rumored, will not ship alongside it; it's said to ship "later in the winter," which translated likely means 2009.

If you're on the fence about the first-person action-adventure, no worries. A demo for the game will land on Xbox LIVE and PlayStation Network before the game's release. Additionally, starting on September 26, pre-ordering the game at "selected retailers" will get you a code that unlock's a Time Trial mode in the demo.

On staff we're divided about Mirror's Edge. Some aren't sold on the first-person parkour aspects, even though they've played the game and admit that it works better than they had expected. Others can't resist a sexy Asian free runner.

Which camp do you fall into?

I think it looks good, however I think this is the type of game that you'll really have to play before making any firm judgements. It looks like it's going to live/die purely on how well the controls work and how your character interacts with the environment. If both of those work really well, it could be a real winner.

The bummer is another potentially great game coming out within weeks of other big releases: Fallout 3, Fable 2, Far Cry 2, Dead Space, Left 4 Dead..... where are we supposed to get the money from?

I have been excited about this game since the very first trailer was shown. The more and more I read about it the more excited I get, so unless the demo is absolutely horrible, I definitely plan on buying this game.

The end of October and the Beginning of November is going to be a very busy time of the year in the video game world. Little Big Planet, Fallout 3, Gear of War 2, and now Mirror's Edge. Where am I going to find the time to play all these games?

Crap, I really want this game. I'm buying everything that Ali D listed and I need new AirSoft equipment for my team, where will I get the money? Monetary paychecks are not enough, I'm afraid.

In before "RENT IT, FAGGET" these are games I'm definitely buying.

Too true. I'm getting my new gaming PC this weekend, so I'm finally going to play CoD4 and the Orange Box. More money!!!

After playing it at PAX, I'm already sold on the gameplay. My big concern is whether or not the game will be interesting and have good levels the whole way through, or whether it'll be that 5 minute demo over and over again.

@Ali D
Even if you have the money, when are you going to even find the time to play them? :S

Hmmmm..

- Way too much hype
- Comic stuff attached to the game
- November release date
- Sexy male/female main character that does acrobatic moves
- Not much information on actual gameplay elements rather than focusing on how it looks and moves

Yeah that's Assassin's Creed right there!

I hope the retro demake version is fixed and ready by then. That's the one that really has me intrigued.

Definitely looking forward to this one. If the demo doesn't stink hard - I'll be buying this one on day one, and all those other games later.

Fuck yeah demo!

I'm on the "meh" camp. Seems gimmicky, but I'm gonna give it a chance.

@Prof. Pew

I loved Assassin's Creed (yeah, I'm one of those people) so I'm definitely picking this up day one :)

I fall into the "platforming in an fps is really not that hard" camp. Seriously - its not that much harder than doing it yourself, while you keep looking ahead. Not to mention, by the looks of things they'll keep it relatively intuitive and auto-corrective, so you can focus on whats head rather than making sure you land a jump absolutely spot on.

I want to play this game. I dont know if i want to buy it. Hopefully there will be a pc demo too.

Can't wait, looks like a singleplayer I'll actually play fully through myself.

I didn't get to play this at PAX, so I'm glad there's a demo coming out. I'm still hoping it will be good; Samit says that he found it fantastic. Also, it's one of the few multiplatform games I'll be getting on PS3, for extra content.

Oh boy, I can't wait for the PC version and the excuses that follow.

"We released the PC version after the console versions, so now people know if it's a good game or not, and those who were interested in playing it have already done so for the most part, and when we did release a version on the PC, it didn't sell so well, so obviously the pirates have beaten us again."

Just you watch.
