I'll definitely give you that #4 is more obnoxious than #2. I guess I accidentally overlooked that part of the contest. My bad!

Saying that #2 is easier to pull off than #4...I don't know if we're judging these pictures by the same criteria here. #2 does have all the things you say, but it's also got excellent lighting, good framing, concept, and like I said earlier, it's pretty apparent a decent amount of work was put into the final product.

#4 took off his clothes, put on some tacky-but-awesome socks, and painted what looks like a palm tree on his chest. Then he teabagged a statue. Don't get me wrong, it's a funny picture and deserved to win (now that I know the rules proper), but unless he painted that tree on his chest with his feet, I'm willing to wager #2 was the more difficult of the two.

"Run somewhere awesome with it with a camera, strike a pose, then email your photo to qosmio@destructoid.com. Don't shave. Don't shower. Just run! We'd like you to be as obnoxious and ridiculous as possible. We are looking for the most over-the-top photos to determine the finalists."

Now how on earth does #2 fit that criteria? There is nothing obnoxious about it.


And sore loser note: #4 was pretty obnoxious, but I still can't help but remind you that I had the balls to take my shots in of thousands of strangers in Times Square.

People were snapping pictures of me and asking to pose with me left and right. I gave Qosmio a ridiculous amount of free advertising.

sorry that i was trying to be as obnoxious and ridiculous as possible. if i wasn't the person in the picture, i agree with you, i probably would have voted for number 2. i personally do think it is a better picture. however, every single person is entitled to their own opinion. i think it's pretty childish of you to say what you said just because the person you wanted to win didn't win. it's also pretty insulting to be called a dumbass by somebody who doesn't even know you just because they think that your entry was retarded. sure the picture i took was annoying and stupid, but that was the point of this entire contest. it wasn't took make it like real propoganda or like a scene from a game, like you stated in your earlier comments. i don't know what this will sound like coming from the winner of this contest, but please try to take it objectively.

and on a personal note, it's not like this was such an easy task to do. this was done on housing day at harvard, when all the freshmen find out what house (dorm) they're going to be living in for the next three years. this entailed there being somewhere around 300-400 students out in the yard to cheer for their dorms, along with the usual contingent of asian tourists (who all joyfully took pictures too), and of course the harvard police, who weren't all too pleased about me being on the statue. it was also really fucking cold out that day - probably around 35 or 36 degrees or so (around 2 celsius) to be exact. considering the wind chill that exists in a huge open yard - and on top of that being in an elevated position - this was not enjoyable at all.

anyway i guess my point is that i thought your first two comments were pretty funny (just to see how random people who don't know you get first impressions of you through pictures that is), but your last comment has gone a bit too far i feel. just my $0.02... it's not like you can make too big of a difference on your average internet user through a comment on a blog anyway.

EXTREME amount of butthurt. Congrats to the winner! You deserved it; you met the correct criteria.

If someone told me to paint a picture of a Goat, and it sucked, should someone else win if they painted a picture of the most beautiful Rabbit ever? #2 was one of the coolest things I've ever seen, but it didn't quite fit the criteria like #4. #2 should just be happy that they were considered, promoted on the internet, and enter another contest that fits the artsy criteria better.

If it means anything, a HUGE pat on the back for #2. They're both good guys!
