With the release of Mirror's Edge on the PC today, DICE and Electronic Arts have announced that downloadable content will be available for PC, Xbox 360, and PlayStation 3 on January 29.
The DLC pack will feature nine races across seven brand-new maps. The DLC pack will cost $10 for the PlayStation 3 and PC, which translates to 800 Microsoft Points for you Xbox 360 users.
NVIDIA and EA were at CES this past weekend, showing off the hot PhysX technology that's being implemented in the PC version of Mirror's Edge, and I was definitely impressed. PhysX allows for some pretty fancy looking visual effects, like real-time glass shattering, wind, and movement of objects in the game world. It looks like PC is going to be platform to rock Mirror's Edge on, if you have the choice.
As for the DLC, who plans on picking it up? Are you still actively competing against others in the time trial leaderboards, or have you moved on? Will this DLC bring you back?
The trailer looked pretty schweet.
PS3 is still getting an extra level for free as well. I don't see that mentioned often on news sites.
Ya know, the ones who buy 5 million copies of Halo and CoD.
Lame.....I own all of the big shooter titles, and while they're fun, I like to, you know - try something different for a change. I guess mainstream gamers don't follow suit? That's fun to them?
I can't understand how people can criticise the difficulty level of this game so much when I found gears 1 just as hard. (Dieing and respawning over and over in some sections)
9 new races for $1.10 each isn't bad, but I'll see what the conversion is on UK PSN. Prices there fluctuate worse than the stock market.
I'd agree with you if 2 of the Time Trials hadn't already consumed 4 hours, on top of the campaigns 6. There's at least 8 more from what I can remember.
The Time Trials is what you pay for, and more of them will certainly be welcome.
$10 is a small price to play Jackie Chan Stunt Coordination on 9 extra races.
