     Electronic Arts

It seems that Electronic Arts has found a new trick to make itself some extra cash -- ridiculously expensive special editions. Just yesterday we talked about the $150 limited edition Dead Space package, and now we get to look at the "Runner's Bag" bundle for Mirror's Edge. It's slightly less expensive than the Dead Space offer, but only slightly less at $130.

Get your limited edition Mirror's Edge Runner's Bag bundle! With an exclusive Mirror's Edge bag from Timbuk2 and a copy of the Mirror's Edge game, you can keep your documents safe as you find the fastest routes from the rooftops to the streets. Only a small quantity of these bags have been made to commemorate the launch of Mirror's Edge, so get your bag before they are all gone!

  • handmade in San Francisco by Timbuk2
  • made of heavy duty ballistic fabric
  • fits all the items your clients in The City need safely delivered
  • $130 for a bag? Seriously? A bag that you can use to vaguely pretend you're a videogame character? Seriously!? That's basically $70 for a bag, but I guess that's nothing compared to how much some people will pay for the bloody things.

Still, there's no way I'm personally dropping that much for a glorified purse. What about you guys?

I'm angrier at the people that made Bioshock and LBP PS3 on the same day.

handmade..in San Francisco. Is this some really elaborate drug-smuggling deal. $130, but you can double your money if you work the corners.

Yeah, I remember a time where you looked for game swag after you played it. Crazy kids nowadays, buy the stuff according to perceived potential of a title. This is just wrong.

Ummm, wouldn't be caught dead wearing that. And holy hell, collectors editions are starting to see an increase in price for... what again?

    Not the shit I deliver.

Also, my blog tells of a good deal at GAME in the UK.... Check me out. It's better than this deal. I wrote the blog. It's in the UK. You get a very nice T-shirt. I hate my job.

I'd use it, my current bag is falling apart and if it comes to the UK with the current special edition going rate of £90 I may be tempted.

Hell, I've spent more than £50 on a bag before.

I love handbags! but i don't know about this game so much. I hope they release a demo version of it. I still would like to see more pre-order incentives like T-Shirts and great things like that just for pre ordering the game.

Wearing a bag with someone else's face on the inside flap might raise a few eyebrows that I don't want raised. Otherwise, a fine lookin' bag.

I believe that most Timbuk2 bags are actually over $100. A brief look at their website and I don't see any under $80. This is actually a pretty good deal, considering that the bag itself is limited edition and actually has a decent design.

God forbid real get some licensed tie-in merchandise that is actually the quality of a normal product. Also, it's not like there's other stuff in the bundle that you feel bad about missing, so if you don't want to bag, you simply don't have to buy it.

Timbuk2 bags are pretty high quality, and the custom ones go for over a hundred bucks just by themselves, so this is actually a really good deal.I just sort of wish they were doing the *actual* bag in the game, rather than a new design.

As the resident special edition whore on Dtoid, I'd like to point out that this bag would easily be over $100 in real life, so considering that the game is $60 and you get the bag for $70, it's not that bad of a deal.

That being said, I already have a messenger bag I'm using that fits my 17" MacBook Pro, this one doesn't look like the one in-game, and even if I needed a bag, I don't like that they printed that image of Faith on the inside. Stick with the small yellow pre-order bag you get for free at Gamestop if you want something to remember the game by.

Yeah, on a quick glace... the bags on the timbuk2 website seem to be quite expensive and pretty.

The last time I spent $130 on a video game, I got a goddamn replica helmet with it, not a man purse.
