It's been a long time coming for Minecraft, but some four million purchases later, the game has exited its extended beta phase. Version 1.0.0 is out! So long, annoying text from the top-left corner. Go start a fight with a dragon, why don't you?
The Xbox Live Arcade version, currently playable at MineCon in Las Vegas, is still on the way. A handful of screenshots, including some that show a revamped user interface, were sent our way. Better yet, there's a humorous trailer even non-fans will likely enjoy.
Rounding out this news is the recent release of Minecraft - Pocket Editionfor iOS. Despite costing $6.99 and not having some features we've come to expect, it'll sell very well.
Minecraft has sold tons on the Xperia Play despite being a very specific and small market. The game is also incredibly rudimentary, featuring nothing more than blocks (and steps).
I hope this does well and furthers support for the super-alpha Pocket Editions.
Funny video! Also, this makes me chuckle considering the few people who claim it will never leave beta.
Minecraft seems like one of those games that should never have an "official" release. Even though they said they will continue to develop for it, it almost seems like it would have been better just to keep adding interesting updates every two or three months instead releasing a version that notch would considered finished.
Sadly, I'll probably never get back into Minecraft, seeing how I logged about 300+ hours into it over the summer, just to have the server I was building on hit the bucket. All that work, gone.
Nope, still don't give a fuck about this game. Guess I'm not autistic enough. or A.D.D. or OCD.
Why's this game popular again?
Also, I liked Minecraft when it was called legos and I grew out of that at age 5. Also when it was called FortressCraft on XBox Live Indie Games Marketplace. Yep. Still don't get the attraction.

An ambitious fan of Minecraft and Star Wars has decided to mash together his two favorite things and recreate the first five minutes of the movie with blocks. He's hoping to recreate the entire film this way, but I'm guessing it will be awhile before he finishes it.
Live long and prosper!

Our favorite blacksmith is back! This time he's recreated the Minecraft's Diamond Sword on the latest episode of Man At Arms. Another cool creation, but I'd hate to actually have to wield this thing as the handle doesn't look comfortable at all.

It's been way too long since we've posted an amazing Minecraft creation. So I'm really happy we get to highlight this awesome fan created roller coaster themed after Beetlejuice, both the cartoon and movie.
It's pretty trippy, and the project took about two months off and on to complete. Even crazier is that this was done on the Xbox 360 version of Minecraft!more
