@ Epic-KxDtoid,
Really? I enjoyed Apollo and all, but I felt they crapped on Phoenix's character while creating a new one (Apollo) that had no real personality to speak of.
Gavin was the standout in Apollo for moi - though different strokes for different folks I guess. =)
The characters in Apollo Justice are more entertaining than in Miles Edgeworth, but Miles is just....cooler. he's like the Dan Hibiki of the Ace Attourney series.
Honestly though the only ones to blame here for AAI not selling is Capcom. They said they're not giving up on the franchise in general, that'd be pretty damn silly. They're just not putting any focus on this particular side series. AAI had some of the most terrible localization in Capcom history alongside Okamiden due to it being handled internally and exclusively, and was barely marketed at all. Blaming the audience for not buying into it is incredibly silly, of course history would repeat itself if they'd handle it the same way they handled this particular game.
also the game wasn't that good. The actual crime scenarios started getting outlandish in trials and tribulations, but they just became too rediculous in this game. Also the writing wasn't good. I don't care about chasing some random thief throughout the whole game, I'm tired of seeing the damn steel samurai, and this ge made me hate most of the characters I used to like. The recurring jokes that characters had in the old games got absolutely run into the ground so hard they hit bedrock. Every five seconds fransziska was wipping you, old bag was yellig at you, or gumshoe would "get another paycut"
The method of release isn't the problem. The issue is whether they'll sell enough copies period to justify the cost of proper, colorful localization (i.e. not just a straight-up, likely dry translation). Making it a downloadable game, in my mind, would probably give them a smaller return than a regular physical release.
I bought my copy. I would rather have more Phoenix though than another spin-off but I'll take what i can get.
Layton vs. Ace Attorney MUST HAPPEN! It will be awesome!
AAI2? Eh. I finished AA:I, but didn't really...have as much as fun as I did in the other games. Logic chess might be interesting, but I need to try it to see if I like it or not...
You know there are fans out there who will buy this game. If you would spare a bit of marketing cash toward it, and persuaded game stores to actually sell the damn thing, I'm sure you would get your investment back.
I want to play Layton vs Wright more than i want to play another spin off.
Reading the Twitter post as 'Henry Hatsworth 2' and finding out it's not that at all :(
WHY!!??!?! I love the whole Ace Attorney franchise!! The only copies I never got new were the first two AA because I could only find them used, and this is how we're thanked for?!?!?!
...If you'll excuse me I think I'm gonna go jump off the top of a 30-story building.
