Sony's video-based advertised service Qore may have some stiff competition in the future. Microsoft recently filed for a trademark for the name "Astuto." The trademark's description describes Astuto as "an on-line magazine and web site featuring information in the field of computer games, science fiction, games and entertainment" for use "on computers and video game players."
There's no mention of having to pay for the Astuto, and as with some trademarks, there's no guarantee it will become an actual product. Chances are that it will float into the abyss. The same place where games like Alan Wake and Duke Nukem: Forever are residing.
By the way, Astuto means "astute" or "clever" in Italian and Spanish. Qore means ... nothing in any language spoken by humans.
