It's 150 bucks. That's not bad for the amazing awesomeness.
Day one purchase for me.
Maybe not day one, but month one for sure. I usually hate workout games, but Ubisoft's Fitness Evolved looks awesome.
Not to defend Natal, but if you paid $450, that would be automatically four player compliant with the Natal's camera.
If you buy the Wii and want it to be four players, that's $200 - plus $60 for the Wii-mote nunchuk, $60, $60, $60 - $440 - plus motion plus for next year when more games require it - $80 more - $520.
This is all presupposing you want it specifically for four players. Then think about if the next Xbox (720) supports Natal - you don't have to buy more controllers.
And there aren't any games right now that require motion plus in my comparison, really either.
I'm talking about somewhere down the line next year, if both Kinect and Motion Plus even catch on.
But like it's been pointed out, if you want a dancing game, or an exercise game to track you body's movements accurately, this is the peripheral that will do it the best. And for the people who want that, they may fork up the money for it. But I think they're choosing profit over getting the product into more people's hands. Which to me, sounds like a mistake.
Isn't the sensor supposed to only be able to handle two people?
I could've sworn Dtoid ran a story recently about that...
I am intrigued by the Dance game though. Looks like mad fun.
so itll flop, and microsoft will learn theyre lesson. Like sony did with the early ps3. And like sony will with the premium plus service
As for the price, it's obscene. If this thing sells well without at least two price drops first, I think I may actually completely give up my faith in the gaming community.
@Magnalon
It's true, Kinect only supports up to two players.
@kce05d
You're right about Kinect having all that stuff in it, but that doesn't mean it can actually DO anything more than be a camera. The hardware may be there, but the functionality is extremely limited -- It's not MEANT to be a computer.
Although I'd like to see a lower price point as well I think most of you are all off your rocker with your comments and over the top with all the negativity and hate. This price point seems doable for a one-time purchase with a great game and it only needs to be bought once.
I hope additional great games will show up by launch time but with Dance Central alone as the initial purchase I'm certain I'll be picking this up.
I don't look at this as an investment but as an alternative to spending the insane cost to take my family to the theatres around here. 2 times to the movies...or Kinect and a good game they can all play....hmmmm
