if you're worried about the failure rate, just do what I'm going to do and buy it at costco. they'll exchange it for a new one no problem. even if you don't, it comes with a frickin 3 year warranty. much better than my crappy 90-day ps2 warranty, which left me with a ps2 that couldn't play certain games.

I find it kinda cocky to say that my console has the best value even if its got HD and XBOX Live... Personally, I wouldn't ever use Live so the only ones caring about it are the xbox fanboys and nobody else. The wii for its part is just extremely popular, which doesn't mean that it's the best of the three it's more like the most appropriate. and the PS3 is just overpriced, come on sony, i don't want to buy a 40 gig PS3 with no backwards compability

Do you or do you not see how pitiful it is that in your attempt to list great exclusives for the PS3, you had to resort to naming two games that aren't even out yet? That pretty much says it all.

It was pointed out on this very site a month or two ago that the "FPS Box" label for the 360 is unwarranted and incorrect. Sports games actually comprise a higher percentage of total games for the 360 than first-person shooters. But I get it. Facts have no place in a fanboy's world. I'd also like to know how you define a "AAA" title. I know how this game works...I name off a dozen titles and you'll just say they all suck anyway. Are we going by critical acclaim? Sales? No matter what, the Xbox 360 has had more AAA titles than the PS3, even if you subract all the FPS titles.

I'm not a fanboy, by the way. I own a PSP, owned a Playstation and a PS2, and I simply chose the 360 over the PS3 because it was a better value (at the time much less expensive than the PS3) and had better games and GAMING-RELATED features (ie better online system, even if it does cost a whole $4 a month...a bit more than a gallon of freaking gas) You'll notice I'm not arguing with you on techy crap--the PS3 is a nice piece of hardware and, not taking game selection and other factors into account, a great value. But when you try to go waaaaaaay out of bounds and overextend your argument to the point that you're making completely idiotic statements, you don't do yourself or your argument any good.

Hexfix93: Sony is an evil company (DRM rootkits and kicking Highly Pregnant women out on the street)and god knows Nintendo is too(secretly getting the rights to Tetris and waiting till your competition has dumped all there money on advertising/production/distribution before notifying them they had to pull it sure it was a tight acquisition but they enjoyed twisting the proverbial knife) they are businesses that try to make money so maybe that makes them evil. MS are no saints either(Think Hasbro) I have all 3 systems and right now for me I have around 30 games for 360 and 9 for PS3 and about 10 for Wii so at least right now my 360 is the best value.

I love all my systems, my PS3 is finally becoming worth the investment. But unless you just want a Blu Ray player I wouldn't say the PS3 is better price/performance wise. There has yet been a game on PS3 even 1st party exclusives that has made me think the hardware was better they are actually quite even so far. And lay off the True HD talk you might as well say Blast Processing instead.

I do agree the reliability issues have been a pain and they better get those issues under control but they are making right on them for the most part. But dont say Sony has never been through anything like this before hmm laptop batteries overheating, ps2 disk read issues I'm sure there are others. I think there was so much pressure on them with the PS3 of speculative issues that they over compensated and made a damn stable system and for that I am glad.

x360 has a 3 core (all of them is HT capable) processor, extended with special matrix math assembler calls, has a specialized graphics core, based on the R580 but half way between DX9 and DX10, supports shader modll 3.5 a special extension created only for the x360. Has unified memory, so you can directly access gpu memory from cpu (what isn't possible on anything else), has 10 megs of ultra fast ram (faster communication than the cell cores are capable of), which is missed from you so loved ps3 (what's a design FLAW). If you can buy such pc, than tell me where, and I'll buy it...

The best value product is at this point a pc. From 1000$ you have a good monitor, a dual core processor, 2 gigs of ram, a videocard capable of beating the shit out of any console gpu, and a lot of hard drive space. You have free multiplayer, you can use any other programs (you know games are not the only thing). Just tell me how many costs a ps3 with a decent TV? And it runs crysis smoothly... And yeah you have dx10 :P .

They havent had one decent game that wasnt a fps. Hell even oblivion and mass effect tossed in modes of a first person shooter. its bullshit. I want an rpg not yet another fps.

I didnt even bother getting call of duty 4 for it. I'm fed up, I dont know who else is but when I get it back all fixed I'm selling it and all my games for it. I cant depend on it too work so why keep pluging money into a system that wont play the fucking games like its supposed too ?

Wow Nerull, I wouldn't go as far as you did here. I admit, I don't like the XBOX 360 either. It just isn't my console. The best games for the 360 are the FPS and the Racing Games like PGR3....4.....5... and so on... but really, I won't buy a console which has the best online capabilities but almost no variety (well there IS some variety)
A question to all XBOX 360 owners: How many of the games you bought are FPS?

And please, don't spam things about fanboyism, I'm far away of fanboyism, the three games I play the most are across all 3 platforms: Halo, Tekken and Smash Bros. ;)

@topic: How can someone measure "value"? Just because it's got better ram, graphics etc. than the wii and is cheaper than the ps3 doesn't make it the best console. I'd rather buy a Nintendo DS or a PSP for my gaming needs.
