Better than "shitcan backward compatibility entirely" or "emulate as best you can on new platform" that scored PS3 and 360 so many points on BC.
If I can just build an new PC and have 360 games playable on it, it saves me the trouble about worrying about getting a 360, at least, and ensures I still get to enjoy those games in some form for the future without worrying about them being phased out.
I'm iffy about how excited I can be about PSN's push for PS2 games right now. It could end up being great or be the incredibly slow feed of games that PSOne classics generally are.
And not so sorry for bringing this up, but microsoft should be a little bit more invested in created new exclusives and ips.
Cant wait to see what they come up with
Obviously, this would have to be cloud-based, digital copy only games, which kind of puts a damper on it, and the idea of playing most Xbox games on a phone ... no.
A lot of things to think about here, though. This might be why Microsoft is saying "no" to Steam. Also, while being able to play Halo 4 on both PC and Xbox would be awesome, would you then have mixed multiplayer? Didn't Microsoft get scared off that idea years ago?
I wonder what they will charge monthly to transfer saves from decive to device as we all know this will not be a free service to use.
Anyways, it would be wonderful, but I fail to see how a game like freaking Skyrim can run on a mobile platform if you want to take THAT on the go. Or is it a "only some games will do this" kind of thing.
Copy Netflix's streaming strategy. Use it as an archive for older games. Fill the library with original Xbox games, older 360 games, and retro games that they have the rights to. After 360 games have been out for a while and their sales have settled down, put them on the service. Allow players to play the games on their 360 and PC. They could still give consumers the incentive to buy games by restricting certain features (achievements, online multiplayer, etc).
And make it a feature of Xbox Live that you don't have to pay extra for. It's expensive enough already.

Microsoft shrugs in your general direction.
I've been wanting this feature for PS3-PSP. I hope Sony gets on this too with PS3-Vita because I'll be more likely to go in that direction than 360-Windows-Windows Mobile.
