In all seriousness, what the fuck? A game where you hang out with a small child? I know we've seen this since last year. But what the hell is Microsoft thinking? I feel like everyone who buys this game needs some sit down time with Chris Hansen.
Real friends are over rated and young kids are too hard to get into the van.
Even if it gave you lines to read off of, if NPC can react dynamically to how you yourself say said lines (sounding worried, rude, or indifferent), it could really make for some...dare I say it...real immersion.
Honestly, the conservations thing just has me interested, and if this is a step closer in the more responsive and reactive A.I. in the conservation department, where I'm actually apart of the conservation and not playing director, then I'm all for it.
Of course, Peter is Peter, and the man spends more time taking up the amazing instead of making it in real life. Gotta hand it to the guy though, he's got really fucking cool ideas. I'd love to have a conservation with the guy.
You guys should get a Jim vs Peter, one hour interview, TV style, just about the coming future. The two of you throwing out insane ideas for an hour would be to intense for the normal mind.
Now back up a minute.Do you see a ton of generic ass FPS games on this Steam list? I make a joke and you've gone and gotten insulting, not to mention a bit foolish.
I'm just of the mind that this is going to cause more than a few sensationalist headlines in the mainstream media. I mean really, what good can come of this? If bizarre scripted interactions is what people are clamoring for, then the guys who made Facade would be swimming in super models and sports cars.
I think.
Dont worry about hardock. He's a bigger piece of shit then Patriot Snake was back in his hay-days haha :)
Maybe I am just too optimistic in a pessimistic gaming world
Avert your eyes, @hpv....the truth might burn:
http://www.qj.net/qjnet/xbox-360/director-of-platform-marketing-wants-no-call-of-duty-for-kinect.html
Here is a tasty quote:
"We continue to say that the controller is the best experience for controller games. When people say, 'Why don't you have Halo?' Well, I don't want Halo on Kinect. I want Halo on a controller." - Chris Penello (director of platform marketing for Microsoft)
I can see it now: Mass Effect 5 NOW WITH MEGA IMMERSION! You have to properly answer questions while being interrogated and if your captors don't like your answers(within reason) they beat you some more! Or you have to *really* work at wooing a potential love interest without just mindless side-missions. I like Peter Molyneux's future.
Also, it would be HUGE in Japan because it would make Dating Sim's even more immersive/realistic. "Try to flirt but don't be too nervous!"
You know... For those that are into those kinda things >_>
Microsoft made it strangely clear that motion games and traditional games are two entirely different areas for them. That's consistent with us not seeing motion control-titles with blockbuster series' names slapped on them.
Sony literally said that rumble was a last-gen feature. I don't see how you can compare the two, and I really don't see how you can confuse what the MS PR actually said with what you claim it said.
Also, I would have no problem getting Tali to be my girl.
O'm not so sure about the mass effect idea. I mean ya it's a great idea, but it would probably take forever to implement it into the game; those NPC's would probably take forever to program. And this is on top of making a top of the line game.
The dating sims are much more plausible though seeing as NPC interaction is the ONLY thing that goes on in those games; now there's a way 360 can get on the map in japan... the interaction seen in the Milo actually does seem to set the ground work for that possibility (which in turn only adds to the creepiness)... i think i'm gonna stop talking before i go into the possibilities of adding motion tracking gloves to the equation
Once I see that Kinect is capable of this amazing tech, then I may be a believer. But still, even though it's a cool concept, it doesn't make a good game.
I like the steady Kinect coverage, but it's funny seeing the opposing ends of the spectrum within the Destructoid staff's responses. Everything from it representing the best of this past E3 for some to Jim's annoyance with the jumbled PR messages coming out about it.
I think it's even funnier seeing the self-selecting community responses for those respective articles. I feel like the only one laying back and doing exactly what I did in the wake of the Nintendo DS announcement: wait for something to impress me. I don't need this thing right now, so I could care less about the splashing going on with the press and the community at the moment. Everything's so polarized to be absolutely negative or unrealistically positive. If I see five or so titles that look like my style, I'll snatch it up. If not? no skin off my back.
How exciting and informative would these gaming blogs would be without info from PR mouthpieces? Here's a hint: Not very.
Re-read the actual statement. It's basically nothing but useful information clarifying (or correcting) an earlier statement. Really? They should "fuck off and die"? Take your pills, Timmie.
Oh wait, this supposedly reflects badly on the xbox, HAHA SUCK IT XFAGS M$ LIED 2 U LOL
*sigh*
While Sony is doing a Microsoft circa 2007 - great exclusives, great surprises and concentrating on the hardcore gamer market.
