The means the wiiu will do ok then. In terms of the console war, either or Sony and MS could have really upstaged the wiiu with a new machine. But since they are not doing anything, that leaves 2012 to the wiiu all alone. People hungry for something new after a 6 year wait will be eager to buy one.
You know if neither Sony nor Microsoft are going to show anything new this year (which mean nothing might be released next year either), then Nintendo's WiiU might be on it's own as something new to be sought after... a console without competition if you will. Most everyone already has a 360 or PS3, WiiU might be a nice breath of fresh air, transferring VC and WiiWare games and being backward compidible... who knows?
Not surprising. Microsoft announced and released the 360 in the same year. They're not the type to cannibalize their current console with its successor. Nintendo started the Wii U talk because they needed to get the hype going and please investors given that the Wii is at the end of its life cycle. Sony might talk *some* details about the PS4, though, even if it's not coming until 2013 or 2014. The PS2 and PS3 were both announced over a year before their US releases.
As for those saying that the 360 has no games this year, Halo 4 is their biggest first party release since... well Halo 3. It dwarfs Gears, and it'll probably move 10M+ units in its lifetime. Forza Horizon has potential as well, if only for the fact that it's being developed by formed Bizzare guys who worked on PGR. I've been saying this for years, but I wouldn't mind another Conker or Perfect Dark if they do it right. I won't get my hopes up, though. So yea, not great but I think you guys are underestimating it a bit.
