The biggest year for Xbox? The only 360 exclusive I can think off the top of my head for this year is Halo 4...
This is actually good news. There's still plenty of awesome gaming to be had on the 360 and the PS3. Plus not all of us can afford a new system in the near future anyway. The longer our investments in these systems last, the better.

If Sony is going for a ten year plan, Microsoft will definitely want to go just as long so that they are able to beat them to the market within a year and repeat this generation's momentum.

I can understand why some are going to be disappointed by the lack of any next-gen console news save for the Wii U, I could not be happier. This generation has provided some of the most awesome games of any generation to date, and there is still a load more of potential for the 360 and PS3. Some genres franchises (I won't name names) have been dominating this generation while more obscure and original games and genres have been fighting to stay in the game (no pun intended). Okami was one of my favorite games on the PS2, and I've yet to see any HD game come close to capturing the same magic and sense of wonder that Okami did. I've played some great games on the PS3, and I won't take anything away from what developers have accomplished over the last six years. I just don't want to have this generation end before it can reach its ABSOLUTE full potential. I'm glad Sony and Microsoft are holding off the next next-gen console war for the time being; gamers and developers alike should use that time wisely.
Gravy, this generation could do with being longer, it's times like these where we get better games. The tech costs less, more people can do more with it, and it's all about making something thats actually clever and inventive so that it fits inside the limits of the console.
Also, I decided long ago I was buggering over to PC gaming anyway, You watch, NextBox is going to try and be more of a PC/'home entertainment hub' than a games console, so I might as well graduate into the big boy leagues and get simply better experiences with my games...

Good, hopefully they announce some more Damn games. NOT for kinect. I love my Xbox but it feels a desert (exclusive-wise) with tumbleweed blowing around lately. Alan Wake has been the only I've wanted lately (too bad my Fucking wireless died though). Hopefully Forza Horizon is good and of course I'm curious about Halo 4, but yeah... Gears 3 was cool. Damn I feel like I'm trolling almost.
Bleh. Someone let me know when they get around to making new consoles. I'll be playing PC games till then.

Good for me. I still don't know why people are always so quick to beg for new consoles when the only advantage is better graphics. I am fine with the xbox 360 and don't like having to buy an expensive new console, new accessories, the year or two of crappy launch games, and potentially losing all digital content licenses if the next xbox doesn't allow for transferring. I know it will happen eventually, but like I said, if you're so willing for all of that, just for improved graphics, go play on the PC.
This is good news. I want to spend my money on games, not hardware. If I wanted that I'd be gaming on my PC. That being said, I will definitely buy the next Xbox.
I'd kind of like to see Sony get a bit of a head-start this time around. I think the 360's year of non-competition from other "next-gen" consoles allowed them to get their feet wet while building a substantial library. Has Sony made any similar statements regarding E3?
I think the shortages of hard drives caused by the Thai floods last year have probably pushed back the the timelines of Sony and Microsoft new system launches by a year or two.
Some of this stuff is a bit out of their control, unless you want the next gen to launch with systems costing like $699-$999 again, and Sony probably doesn't want to make that mistake again and MS certainly doesnt want to do it.

It's pretty obvious that there is no way they were going to be able to showcase the new tech this soon, and honestly it probably won't happen until they can price it similarly to old launch consoles. The biggest issue mainstream gaming faces is the fact that we need a box to play it on, and new tech doesn't always mean it's drastically cheaper let alone profitable to develop and release next generation electronics.
Now if only it would stay down until I can graduate with my masters and find a job.

They figured making a new console was done before so this year they'll be focusing on new features for the Kinect! 8D Also, the header: D'AWWW!!!!
Well, at this years E3 doesn't mean it won't be announced at all.. I'm not saying I really want to see it announced just yet.. My Backlog is going to be 20 strong again and theres still plenty of other games I need go get before I'd feel comfortable with that.. But it doesn't mean it can't be announced by the end of the year.. Isn't there another big show after or around E3 (also, why can't I remember? Its not like I check out on the industry after E3..)

Unveil it at TGS... maybe the Japanese will then take notice. I think Sony, MS, and Ninty should start launching in the spring. You're always going to have a holidy surge why waste it on a console launch? Double dip with strong sales leading up to the holiday and then the push will be that much better.
In the interview they also say a new xbox console won't be coming out any time soon. We may have to wait untill 2014 for the Xbox 720
Let the Wii U be it for a while. Please. I'm comfortable with this generation and as long as it continues to be optimizied the happier I'll be. Bigger budgets, better-looking games, and a million new features that I won't use doesn't interest me anymore.
It looks like both Sony and Microsoft are giving E3 to Nintendo this year. Whether that's by design, or because they just don't have anything ready in time, is yet to be seen. But by all accounts, it looks like Nintendo is the only one out of the big 3, who will have big announcements on their new hardware. Plus with it launching this year, we'll probably get the works of new announcements. Launch titles, price, release date, new games, final specs, big 3rd Party announcements.

Heh heh. Sorry, I find it humorous. I know tons of people were assuming Microsoft would talk about it, but disappointment is usually a consequence of assumptions.
I always find new hardware announcements interesting, so this is necessarily disappointing, but I don't really feel like it's diminished my excitement for E3 2012.
