Only one day to go before Microsoft publicly reveals the New Xbox Experience. Are you excited? Are you hyped? I guarantee you are not as excited or hyped as Microsoft itself, since it just compared its NXE to the invention of color television in 1954. Dramatic, much? "In 1954, the introduction of color TV heralded the dawn of a new era in entertainment," states MS in a press release. "On Nov. 19, more than 50 years after that dramatic shift, a new era in home entertainment begins with the New Xbox Experience as millions of Xbox 360™ consoles will transform instantly through the power of software." Referring to the NXE as a "bold new future," where movies and games co-exist in tandem for with friends and families around the world, Microsoft has NO intention of letting this dashboard update go unnoticed and undersold. "The future of home entertainment is Xbox 360 – it’s on demand, it’s high definition, it’s always social, it’s all in one place," claims Don Mattrick. "With the New Xbox Experience we will reach the next generation of Xbox owners, 25 million and beyond. We are at a watershed moment, backed by the largest entertainment brands, with an incredible line up of entertainment unmatched in any industry." So it is confirmed. The New Xbox Experience is the most significant thing to happen to home entertainment since color television. Wow. Hit the jump for the full press release.

i LOVE my Xbox...but huh?
I don't think I've seen a statement that bad come from Peter M. about Fable. Geezus MS is full of themselves.
Oh please.
I'm disconnecting my network connection so I can actually play my Xbox tomorrow. I do not wish to wait for days while the NXE downloads because their servers got raped.
Microsoft know how to make statements they can't live up to.
Also hope it'll be good. Thinking of getting a 360 just need more convincing (to many unfinished games on other systems).
Wow somebody's really proud of themselves. I'm sure it's going to be cool, but not quite that cool.
People, foot in mouth disesase affects many Americans every day. Donate now - a click of a mouse could save their integrity!
@ welkstar
me too mate, i wanna play my gears 2 over and over again!
il leave it a week, after all it is MS, you never upgrade XP untill a good 2 weeks!!
In 1945, the introduction of the atomic bomb heralded the dawn of a new era in world politics. On Nov. 19, more than 50 years after that dramatic shift, a new era in mankind begins with the New Xbox Experience as millions of Xbox 360™ consoles will transform instantly through the power of software. A bold new future begins now, where world peace and the removal of poverty in third world countries is delivered in an instant, the best economic advisers share the stage with the world leaders, and every experience is shared with friends and families, in the same room or around the world.
HAH.
Id be enjoying it tomorrow...if my 360 wasnt on its way to be repaired.
I thought we'd all be used to companies making statements they cant live up to by now...
If it's that awesome it must not be covered in ads or anything!
What? No.
Sometimes I wish MS devs would just stop making statements. More importantly ones that cannot be kept in any way.
@ CloneTrooper
Thats one thing the statment has in common, the both broke alot on release!! well when i use to have CRT they always use to go...well every 2 years or so..
Ridiculous claim is ridiculous.
Give me something that will let me rip my dvds to my HD and share THOSE with my friends over a network, then we can start talking about revolutions.
You have no idea how much I want to share my seasons of Red vs Blue with random friends on my Xbox.
fail. all that shit is worthless. just make games for your gaming system.
and im sorry but only I can put myself in the middle of something.not your system of the gods.
and is the 360 HD? i thought only the movie content was HD. since most 360s dont have hdmi its not a high def system right?
lips/your in the movies? they must be joking.
calling it the game room is just that. calling it something else. its still a list of your download arcade games. nothing new.
and who needs an avatar really? im in my menus for 2 min before i start a game where i wont see the avatar anyway.
i use my gaming systems for games. i use my laptop for videos and music.why do people listen to music through there TV's any way? unless you have a good sound system, TV's have lower quality sound than stereos. why stream music from pc to 360 (coming out tv speakers)when you can hook up your pc to your sound system? lame.
Cool, sure.
Equaling or rivaling the invention of color television?
Eh...no.
Letting me install a game onto the HDD to eliminate the disc drive noise, creating a cartoon character to represent myself, and other bells and whistles doesn't equate to changing the way people watch television and, at least back then, how they see the world.
Does anybody know if the NXE is going to be available at midnight? If so, will it be midnight across the board (ie. 12PT, 12MT, 12CT, 12ET) or Midnight in one place (ie. 12PT, 1MT, 2CT, 3ET)
@ count Stabula,
its released at 10pm here in the UK
@ fetusmilk
you ahve stuff going through your tv?? man you live in the 90's 5.1 at least!! Games sound so much better over a decent hifi/surround system!
This is retarded. NXE maybe cool but, this is just microsoft's lame attempt to interest people in a poorly made console to keep from making a new one or improving the horrible version they already have.
My "poorly made console" has been running without a hitch since launch. Best gaming machine ever made easily.
It's all about the games. Xbox 360 has them. Ps3 doesn't. easy choice.
Microsoft needs to fire their PR department.
Oh, it comes out tomorrow? Maybe I'll get my 360 back from repairs the same day.
You're comparing the New Xbox experience with Mexico's greatest gift to the world?
I guess MS is just too full of themselves
is the real life skynet called "new xbox experiance"?
You mean that my streaming media server will no longer do?
The fact that I have about 1TB of media available whenever I want it means nothing in the face of this update!
*Buys an Xbox*
Booooooooooooooooooooooo
Corporate exec overstating things to maintain investor confidence in a time of economic crisis. Nothing new to see/hear here besides the NXE starting soon. Moving right along.
Alright, maybe tone down the insanely high expectations?
I got to update last night and aside from the Netflix player the whole thing has been pretty underwhelming.
I don't get why Microsoft is thinking this is the second coming...
@Microsoft:
I just hope I don't get an eye full of marketing crap in my eyes when its upadted more than what I see already.
as I change a blade on the dashboard its buy this play this rent that download this... its in a way why i prefure the PS3 XMB since pics and icons arn't gonna be covered in ad's...next thing they have an ad like the microsoft ad for pc but saying "I'm a 360....I'm 360"...
Yawn. Glad I don't have a 360 right now tbh.
My xbox red ringed last weekend :( this sucks bad
I'm looking forward to the update, but this is a stupid remark.
I'm honestly surprised MS didn't make a Jesus Avatar and declare, "THE SECOND COMING OF CHRIST IS HERE!!"
Actually, I would have found that to be pretty hilarious.
I'm with Tubatic on this one.
Let's be realistic. If something revolutionary is to come out, it will be for PC and will probably be either free from the bounds of convoluted US law, or too impractical to prosecute.
MS is pretty bad at hyping stuff...
i somehow downloaded it last night and it is pretty cool once you get used to it. i hated it at first though..
Well I hope I enjoy it "Don't slate it untill you tried it" :D
How about erradicate the RoD on Xbox 360s? That'd be an awesome revolution.
just make it SILENT. As is NO sound. This is my only gripe with the 360.
I hate Adman talk. Burn them all.
THE WORLD OF GAMEING WILL TREEEEEEMMBBBLLEEEE
...at our new pretty menu
Two things were certain to come out of this:
MS being full of shit and people overreacting to anything they say.
It's pretty much the standard PR spin.
That. Is. Adorrrrrable.
"eferring to the NXE as a "bold new future," where movies and games co-exist in tandem for with friends and families around the world, Microsoft has NO intention of letting this dashboard update go unnoticed and undersold."
This is all well and good Microsoft.... if you offered this Netflix service OUTSIDE OF FUCKING NORTH AMERICA. I'm looking forward to this update, but this is a fucking joke. Fuck you Don Mattrick.
My world will never be the same.
I thought that impact was introduced by Atari in the 70s
loll @ M$ ... a bunch of dumbass ... i don't care about having Mii's on my 360
Wow! now instead of using my 5 year old PC to easily watch movies and play games i can fumble through some menus with a control pad. Thank you microsoft, what an innovation!
Sounds like they've been taking notes from Peter Molyneux and Denis Dyack.
I'll be keeping my 360 disconnected for a while until this whole pos blows over.
cmon guys...
MS wouldn't lie. This will be life changing.
