It seems like every couple of weeks we get some news chuncklet that fuels the Halo 3 anticipation fire. Well today, that news item is the pricing for the Standard, Limited, and Legendary editions of the game:
Legendary Edition -- $129.99
- Comes packaged in a collectible Spartan helmet case
- Bonus disk one: HD "making of Halo 3" documentary, various behind-the-scenes videos, and an audio-video calibration tool
- Bonus disk two: remastered cinematics from the first two Halo games with developer commentary and content from Red vs. Blue and This Spartan Life
- Illuminating collection of original storyboard art
Limited Edition -- $69.99
- Comes packaged in a metal case
- Bonus disk one (same one as the bonus disk from the Legendary Edition)
- Halo fiction and art book
Standard Edition -- $59.99
- Comes packaged in a regular Xbox 360 game case with Halo 3 inside
If you happen to be one of the cheap bastards that buy the Standard Edition, prepare to be the laughing stock of 13-year-olds everywhere.

"bitches love sandcastles" ... yet, there is no sandcastle in that photo. We may never truly understand his ways.

Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!
Hey... wait a a minute....
I'll take the $70 edition. It looks badass enough and I'm not really missing that much by not getting the Legendary set. The helmet will just gather dust, anyway.
Of course, I don't even have a 360, so WTF @ me.

It's laughing STOCK as in "put him in the stocks" not laughing STALK as in "I am going to stalk and kill you for improper use of language"
jeez.
The "Limited Edition" Halo 2's are going for like $8 on Craigslist. Microsoft is going to make 20 million of those plastic helmets for their Legendary "extra extra special special edition." They'll sell 10 million and you'll be seeing those dumbass helmets in the bargain bins of EB for the next 20 years. There's nothing collectible or limited about them.
I'm getting the $60 edition and maybe not even that. I might just wait and pick up the used copy that all of you kids end up selling back to Gamecrazy for 1/20th of its original value.
Halo 2 only came out two years and some change ago.
I'll have to wait ONE year, tops. Likely less as used copies of Halo 3 will begin appearing online and in-store within a month or two of the release. There will be so many copies of that game floating around you can't help but catch a bargain.
Hmm.
They should have put something more useful instead of that helmet...Can you put the helmet on a small child? or is the helmet smaller?
Save that c-note for beer.
Honestly, who the fuck cares about special editions? I bet most of them don't even watch the content, and keep it on their mantel so their friends know they are willing to spend whatever it takes to make up for their deflated gamer confidence.
