When is it coming oooooooooooooout!? AAAAAARRRRRRRGGGGH!!!
The Shinesparkers clan continues to toil away on the companion album to last year's Metroid-themed Harmony of a Hunter. Above is the third preview of 101% Run, but at least now we have a target month for release: November 2012. Let's hope the remainder of production goes smoothly.
As you can hear, there is a lot of love for Metroid Fusion in this latest sampler. That was such a weird sequel that straddled the line between the classic Metroid style and the exposition-heavy dreck of Other M. Still, I have a soft spot for it. Kinda wanna play it again. And wouldn't you know it, I have it on my 3DS! Looks like I've got my evening plans covered!
I liked Fusion quite a bit. A bit too linear, but the story was alright, and it had great bosses and great music. Zero Mission was better, though.
Other M is disgusting. Terrible story, terrible character, completely ignored the Prime Trilogy both in terms of story and world-building, practically non-existent soundtrack and gameplay that was mediocre at best.
Anyway, this album sounds incredible, and The Shinesparkers are great, so I'm really looking forward to this.
Awesome preview. I liked that Fusion took chances rather than trying to replicate Super Metroid, even if they didn't always pay off. Those heart-stopping confrontations with the SA-X still get me every time.
Even though Other M came out 2 years ago I still feel like it's been ages since I had my Metroid itch scratched. Maybe that's because Prime 3 came out in 2007.
IMO Fusion was probably the best Metroid ever. Super fluid controls propelled it above the rest. Prime was pretty cool, but I have a soft spot for Metroidvania games over FPS's (though I think they did an amazing job adapting the genre to the character).
In a sectioned off outer space section of E3, I bumped into none other than Samus Aran. She was keeping it really, doing whatever, and having a pretty good time. I figured she'd feel left out, what with Nintendo ignoring her...

If you have a Wii U, run, don't walk to your GamePad and pick up Super Metroid on the eShop for $0.30 -- it should be live later today, unless Nintendo delayed it until the eShop update tomorrow. A timeless classic, Super Met...
Recently, Club Nintendo offered up Super Metroid for 150 coins -- a modest offering, right? There's only one problem: the game was set to go on sale for $0.30 on May 15th. As a result, Nintendo is offering up a 150 Coin refun...
