Metro: Last Light is still in development despite the demise of THQ, and is now on track for a May 14 release date in North America. Europe will be able to sink back into the post-nuke depths on May 17.
"The new release date is the ideal way to strike the balance between bringing the best out of Metro: Last Light and not keep the fans waiting longer than necessary," said Koch Media CEO Dr. Klemens Kundratitz in a press release. "We won’t leave that time unexploited and will work closely together with 4A Games to make the game even better. It will receive all the attention it deserves."
Deep Silver will now be publishing the game, a sequel to the rather great Metro 2033. It's been a long time coming, and I'm looking forward to seeing how it holds up. My fingers are crossed.
