Metro: Last Light confirmed by THQ photo

We discovered last month that THQ had registered a few domain names tied to the Metro 2033 name. Well now THQ has confirmed that the sequel is on the way. It's going to be called Metro: Last Light and that's all the news we have on that.

Yup. Yay?

This is awesome news. Metro 2033 was one of the most atmospheric and freaky games I've ever played. The game was an awesome survival horror experience. I just hope they make the stealth system better.

The first was a very solid adventure-style FPS. As said by posters, terrific atmosphere.

I thought it's rep as a severely broken/buggy game was overblown. There was some glitches, but no more than many other games. Some of the game system balances (enemy awareness, filter stockpile, etc.) could use some tweaking for sure, but it seemed like a lot of people who had the biggest issues were trying to blow through the game as if it was standard twitch blaster rather than a slower-paced, exploration FPS.

Standard human enemies took a hundred bullets to go down. It was annoying in GoW, where at least they weren't human, it was a deal-breaker in Metro 2033. No, I don't want an easy game; I want one that makes sense.

@ xenon

Humans came down pretty quickly with headshots and well-placed knives.

I agree. As much as I loved the atmosphere and the story, gameplay mechanics have to make sense within the confines of the game's reality. I blasted a Nazi pointblank with a friggin' shotgun six times AND HAD TO RELOAD TO KILL HIM. If human beings in this world can take an entire clip of shotgun shells to the sternum and not even wince, then why the hell would monsters and radiation even bother them?

That game was epic. But it needs to be open world like Oblivion or Fallout. It gave me that feeling the entire time but it wasn't there. Not saying it was a bad thing. The game was really good.
Their are some glitch problems but nothing as bad as F:NV.

@Xenon: That's probably because you were playing the game on "easy"; enemy HP, as well as your own, went down as difficulty went up, on the hardest difficulty level most enemies die with one shot, but then again, so do you :)

@timtheterrible: ok, but that doesn't justify them being able to absorb entire clips in the body. If designers wanted to set a "headshot or melee only" rule even for the most basic enemies, they should have somehow wrapped them in kevlar or something. If I have a gun - or shotgun - and an enemy in a t-shirt in front of me, I expect to be able to bring him down with a few shots wherever they land.

@Marar: I'm certain I was at least playing on Normal, but I must admit I didn't expect enemy HP to go down with the difficulty going up. I might give it a try.

It could have just been because I played differently. Basically, all of my human kills were stealth kills, and most of the time I would just avoid fighting altogether to save ammunition if possible.
