Yup. That's definitely Metal Slug. Not that there's anything wrong with that. It's one of those games where, so long as they don't muck about too much with the core gameplay, I'm perfectly happy to go along for the ride.

By the same token, it doesn't exactly get me pumped either. I know I'll play it because I play all of them but can you really proclaim it as "The Ultimate Game" when it looks exactly like the last one?

What do you guys think? Are you excited for this when it comes out in November?

Change the name of Metal Slug to Madden and you've got yourself your next write up with no work.

Why wait for the US version when the EU version is already out?

Well Metal Slug has always been pretty much the same, but in the end is still fun! The formula still works but the series would definitely need some freshness.

Meh. Did they add anything new?

i've already beat it. it's not that difficult, they even let you restart from the last stage, like in space invaders extreme.

the games is fun but the lack of multiplayer, just suck balls

As long as there are new vehiclese and new weapons I'll be happy.

Since they added Ralf and Clark from KOF, I think it would be neat to add Leona and give her hand to hand attacks kinda like Noitu Love 2. But, I'll always love Metal Slug.

I've also been playing the Japanese one, and it's honestly my favorite one out of the entire series. It keeps up the difficulty, introduces new weapons, and is just amazingly fun. It's worth it.

Eh, the pervading opinion I'm hearing is that it's good, but more or less just an MS6 rehash. I'm sure it'll be good old fun, but it'd be nice to have something new.

I don't know about this. The lack of multiplayer is going to be a huge strike against it here. I mean, if Contra 4 can pull it off there's no reason this game can't.

There's no multiplayer? WOW, that's so stupid.

They changed the forumla for Metal Slug 3-D and that was a horrible flop, so it's best they stuck with the 2-D format.

Anyone has soundtrack to all Metal Slugs?
Every torrent with it is dead, and on eBay I've seen an offer of reselling original discs + album for ... 200$.

It's great soundtrack, shame it's not accessible.

I still remember using the 'fishing line' trick to beat the first Metal Slug on the arcades when I was younger...

Ah, juveline crime... oh so great...

I want to play it even though they screwed up the last collection with unlimited lives. However, I would like to see the series experiment with an RPG or Strategy game.

I like Metal Slug, but I already have Metal Slug Anthology on both PSP and Wii. You know what would make Metal Slug 7 stand out from the rest? If they added some sort of online co-op or something that the others didn't have.

Or at least have online leaderboards, so you can compete for the high score.
