This is great news since I never had a chance to play it on the PS2 (got a PS2 of my own last year. Problem?). Will pick this up as soon as it's released.

I'd rather they port The Twin Snakes to 3DS instead, but that's just me.

Meh..I just can't get that excited for ports of games I've already played(many times). No matter how great the game is, I can't justify paying 4o-6o dollars for a game I already own...portable,3d,hd, whatever they do to boner-fy the port,its still just a port

The only reason I bought a 3DS is because my brother sold his PS2 and his copy of Snake Eater before I had the chance to play it. It sucks that I have to wait so long from launch to play it, but compared to the decade since my last chance to play, a couple of months is nothing. Good news as far as I'm concerned.

Out of curiosity Jim, do you know if this is for the US, Japan, or worldwide? Regardless, this is good news.

As long as it's not a Peace Walkerification of the original, I'll be fine. I want the campaign untouched, only a new inventory system and new graphics, if you want (To be honesto, Snake Eater is already perfect, it doesn't need that much)

@Salamagogo- Totally understandable. MGS3 is really the only one I haven't played so it'll be mostly new to me, but I kinda, kinda look at it as SOME games are like some movies I love. I don't just watch A Clockwork Orange once and then never again. In that case I prefer to have my blu-ray copy over my dvd copy and that over the crummy vhs copy before it. SOME games are worthy of this status for me, and I'll take a shiny remake of a great game over a new but mediocre game almost any day.

November! Wow, Nintendo must have pushed out that system way to fast considering they were showing this game at the E3 reveal last year. But then again I don't think this game - another port, will make me jump to grab a 3DS, I want something new, not that this won't be a great game, but it's not like I NEED it considering I can just play the PS2 version I have on my shelf. I wonder why it's coming out in November though, it's a long way away, maybe it'll launch on the NGP as well.

Absolutely one of my favorite games of all time, and I think the most affecting game in the series for me. I'm super excited to have this on the go, I'm going to get a lot of play time out of it.

Right now the port / new title ratio on the 3DS is way out of wack in favor of ports, but I am looking forward to this one. One of my all-time favorites, I'm in the minority in thinking the fourth was fairly disappointing on the game-play side. Snake Eater was a great mix of the series' long-ish story-telling with solid, well-paced game-play.

Konami owns the rights to, and makes Metal Gear games... NOT Sony. And yes, Konami should wake up and make a MGS Collection HD... and if they really like money, they should put it out for the PS3 AND Xbox360.

take away the 3 in Snake Eater 3D and replace it with an H and put the game in a collection with MGS and MGS 2 : Sons of Liberty on a Blu Ray disc for the PS3 and i'll happily play one of my favourite games of all time again!

I kinda agree with Master Snake and think they should do Twin Snakes.. Then release the rest of the series (at least the PS2 stuff obviously) this way. I'd buy it all up again to play it on the 3DS.

Snake Eater is a great game, but will it really work on such a small screen? There's a reason why Peace Walker works well as a portable game.

But I'd rather have every shooter on the NGP. Dual analogs is a must.

MGS3 is definitely my favorite MGS game, the story, music, pacing, boss battles are just amazing. but Portable Ops takes it to the extreme in terms of Music and the Story is good too, can't say the same about the controls though :(
