Get your headbands and camo back out, because the stand-alone multiplayer follow-up to one of the best games in the PSP library has officially gone gold.
Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops Plus brings more maps, missions, and new characters to the portable online multiplayer experience. There's also a new single player mode called Infinity Mission, a new deathmatch multiplayer mode called Shooting Range, and a Practice Mode to help you shake off your suck. Characters from the Metal Gear universe like Raiden and Snake from Metal Gear Solid 4 are usable, and don't forget that your old save data from Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops can be used in this new title. That's a whole lot of awesome in a little package.
If you haven't checked out the crazy official Web page to shoot down little green frogs yet (seriously, try to find the hidden ones), then you definitely should.
Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops Plus will ship to retail stores on November 13th.

Meet the rest of the team
I never played the first one, but now that I've got a PSP, I guess I'll pick it up after I finish Final Fantasy Tactics.
Although I'm a hardcore MGS fan, I've always been a little iffy about the control scheme for the PSP version. I guess I'll just have to try it out for myself.
@linuxguy: as far is i know MPO+ includes lots of characters from all MGS saga, Tengu Soldiers from MGS2, Raiden, Johnny, even Snake from MGS4, and afterall MPO+ is basically an expansion for the online mode, and the single player mode is basically similar to the 'VR Missions' that have no relations to the canonical story at all.
Am I the only one who fucking hated this game? I love all things metal gear except this game. It was extremely awkward and I can't get myself to play it for more than ten minutes at at time.
I wnat this, but...I never finished the first release. I, too, had a hard time with the new play style on the PSP. Which is sad, cuz I hear it's good...I dunno. Shoulda known that Konami would release something like this anyway. They always release at least two versions of any one metal gear game, except maybe for the GBA one.
Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!
But not psp's. :[

1) I could have sworn that at least Japan was getting the opportunity to buy this and have the single-player included. We don't get that?
2) Did Konami shut down the multiplayer from the old version in preparation? Or are they not being dicks like with MGS3?
Get over yourself Snake, you pretentious ass. hahaha
